Finding Her Voice
/This week was by far the most fun week working with June! Her inmate trainer says that June has finally found her voice! He says that it is the most precious, cute, and adorable puppy voice ever! He taught her to open up by Rooing with her and tagging every time she would speak. He then added the hand signal and the “speak” command and phased out his human Roo. He says that what makes is so cute is that it’s such a quiet Roo, but you can see that she puts everything into it. What makes this accomplishment such a big deal is how it has changed her personality. Once June found her voice she instantly became more confident and outgoing. This turn makes her training more fun for both of them.
Basic training is going very well and she already knows all of her basic commands! They are now working on time and duration of every basic. Her inmate trainers’ goal is to have her performing all basics on the first verbal que within the next two weeks.
Another impressive trait is that June has great recall outside. Her inmate trainer can call her from up to 80 feet away and she will come running with her tail going crazy! In the dorm June has found that she really enjoys laying her head in her inmate trainer’s lap and getting her ears scratched. Her inmate trainer says that June is a beautiful smart girl with the voice of an angel!
