Toys!

Foster Eli 20200622.jpg

Eli has been in foster care for over a week and he is quite the charmer. He can get obsessed with squeaky toys, so he gets them rationed out to him. He does best with toys that are built to be “indestructible”. One of his favorites is the Cuz brand squeaky balls. He’ll self-entertain with that for as long as you can stand the noise. Another enchanting thing about him is his plethora of noises. He’s not vocal in the sense of barking or roo’ing, there is a little whining when he’s bored, but he has the best variety of moans, groans, and grunts I have ever heard. His voice is deep so some of his tones are human sounding, especially when he’s content. And the horse-like snorts are the best. It’s hilarious.

He does not get on the furniture and shiny floors are not a problem. Thunderstorms do not phase this easy-going guy. He is now kenneling routinely and still continues to be eager to complete his commands for treats. “Wait” at the door is improving but still needs a little more work. He sits for dinner and just about anything else when I ask him to wait. His leash manners are da’ bomb. Sometimes I have to check he’s still with me because he’s just chugging along next to me. He also responds well to the “leave-it” command for just about anything. He’s a very good boy.
