Taking Things Slow

This whole week Jada and her inmate trainer continued getting to know one another.  Jada is slow to trust but they are taking things at her pace and she is progressing nicely.  She doesn't jump at loud noises like she did the first few days after arrival.  She is still wary and unsure of people and or objects being behind her, especially ones that make any type of noise.  Her trainer is sure that with repeated exposure to these noises, she will become accustomed to them.

Jada and her trainer has continued with leash etiquette, the "name game", and the "attention game".  They also worked on the commands "wait", "release", "let's go" and "heel" every time she exits the kennel and they revisit them frequently the whole time she is out.  Her trainer is pleased with her progress.

Later in the week her inmate trainer introduced the commands "leave it", "down" and "sit" while in the training room.  He adds these into her other commands.  Repetition, repetition for perfection.  That's the goal.

Jada is such a sweet girl!  She loves to be pampered and loved on.  Her inmate trainer exposes her to lots of people, so she learns to be comfortable with others.  He lets her approach them and she just eats up the attention.

Jada is as fast as a rocket when she plays outside with her other greyhound friends.  Sometimes they run like they are still at the track.  Give them something or someone to chase and they are off!

Jada is a special little girl with the cutest ears around and is looking for her forever family.  Could it be you??
