Gold Stars Earned
/Comet’s inmate trainer says that Comet has earned gold stars on many of his commands including: kennel, wait, here, stay, bed, jump, and hurry. He says that he’s especially impressed and grateful for his ability to “hurry” when they go outside for a potty break. It’s cold outside, so January is not the time of year you want to be hanging out in the cold while a pup tries to find the perfect spot to go to the bathroom. Comet seems to understand that “hurry” means find a spot and take care of business. His inmate trainer says that he believes Comet dislikes the cold as much as he does.
This week they’ve worked on sit. At first Comet would assume the position for all of 3 seconds before melting into the floor in a big puddle of lazy greyhound relaxation. As of right now he’ll hold the sit for about 10 seconds, all of which is spent staring at his trainer like, “Hurry up, say release I wanna lay down!” On the other hand Comet can hold the bed position for an hour with no problem.
