Curious Cutie
/Well, the time has come when all the dogs go through some characteristic mood changes and Judy is no exception. She knows all her commands but in an effort to assert dominance, she's shown some hesitation in completing "heel." Of course, some of this is just her excitement, and she's also easily distracted - so many shiny, loud, bright things! And she is curious about EVERYTHING!
Judy has also shown some signs of separation anxiety, which is very common for Greyhounds that come off the track since they are used to being around other hounds 24/7. So she and her inmate trainer are working to eradicate that anxiety. She will need a kennel cover in her new forever home. When you leave the house, it'll create a sort of cave-like environment that helps her feel protected. Just give her a Kong and a Nylabone.
She is a loving, affectionate dog and will make a great companion. Her sociability and personality make her prone to separation anxiety to begin with, so her trainer is just working with her every day to help her relax and feel at home in her kennel.
