Sweet Gentle Boy

Week 3 was a great success for Mr. Harley! He did his first sit! He also did his first down. He catches on so quickly! Sitting and downing is hard for greyhounds because they are shaped like sweet long noodles (be sure to check out the pics on the website - you can see their butts don't even touch the ground when they're doing a sit sometimes because of their long legs!).

Harley has been working on all of his commands except for jump and off, because those two have yet to be introduced. He'll start those next week and he's gonna do GREAT!

Harley also got to go up and down stairs for the first time, but he needs a little more practice. Imagine having long legs like that without knees for suspension like us humans have - wow! Harley needed some assistance going up but he did better coming down, so half the battle is won. He is gonna keep working hard on those stairs! Practice makes permanent, after all.

Harley has started to show interest in toys - before he would turn away from them and show no interest, but now he is showing some! He even nibbled at a squeaky toy. With a little more time and exposure, he should come around and be the biggest squeaky toy fan in the world.

Harley doesn't run all that much and is a little nervous around loud noises and tons of people at once, but he is getting used to it. He is such a good greyhound, the cutest and sweetest boy. He is so adorable! He is going to make such an excellent companion to some lucky family - what about yours? ;)
