The Charmer

Frankie is such a sweetheart with unending charisma! He’s got personality that lasts for days and his sense of humor is bigger than his ego!

Training is great . . . he still “knows well” all of his commands and he is very treat motivated now vs. the beginning of his stay here when he could care less about the treats. However, now that he is treat AND toy motivated the treats do edge out the toys most of the time.

Frankie has done a little better when it comes to his knitting peoples hands when he gets overexcited. This behavior is something they’ve been working to mitigate. There is a difference in how he is approached. If you come at Frankie from the front and pet his head he is more apt to start going bonkers. If you approach his side and rub his body first, you can then pet his head without him wanting to vibrate happily.

Once in a while he can get a little nippy with treats and toys but is easily corrected using the “easy’ command or by offering things with an open palm.

He still doesn’t want to drink hardly any water at all so his inmate trainer continues to add water to his kibble at mealtimes so he gets his daily water intake that way.

Sweet Frankie

Frankie is such a sweet boy! All he wants is someone to love and shower him with attention.  He’s an inquisitive boy who doesn’t want to miss a thing. He shows affection for his human by nitting, but his inmate training team is working on correcting this as it is not a desirable trait.  When he gets super excited he wants to jump, but they are working to redirect to a different display of enthusiasm. Frankie likes hanging out in his kennel. He knows all of his basic commands and a handful of extras.  He knows jump so getting in/out of a vehicle should go a little more smoothly. He does talk to his inmate training team from time to time, but his inmate trainer can’t decide if he’s cracking jokes or being sarcastic!

Big Personality

Frankie’s personality just keeps getting bigger and bigger!  His inmate trainer says that he‘s so much fun to watch.  He’s adorable and loving all the time.  He’s doing great with all of his commands, but he’s not too crazy about “shake”, but they are working on that to make it a little more fun for him.  When his inmate trainer sits on the floor with him he thinks he should get loves and attention.  When she doesn’t love on him he throws his paws up in the air then rolls on his back to present his belly for a rub.  She’ll tell him “good belly” in an effort to teach him to do this on command in the future.  Frankie is a sweet boy who loves everyone!  His inmate trainer says that she’s having a great time with this sweet guy.

Under His Spell

Beware!  Our boy, Frankie, is not only handsome as all get out, he’s also smart, funny, and ridiculously affectionate!  So, basically, anyone who comes into contact with this crazy kid falls completely under his spell.  Frankie’s training is going great!  He’s got every single basic command down pat and he’s also doing them well with other inmate trainers.  Sometimes alternate trainers may repeat a command request twice and he follows right on through.

As the weeks continue to fly by, Frankie has been acting more and more like a young pup.  As his comfort level increases, his goofiness is shining through.  Sometimes in his happiness or excitement he’ll “nit” a chosen person’s hand, but they’re working to correct that.  It’s a sign of affection, but some might not welcome it.  If he gets too exuberant his inmate trainer tells him “easy” because despite his own impression about his size, he is not a tiny tea cup poodle.  She doesn’t want take away his happiness, only mold it into a manageable direction.  His inmate trainer says that Frankie has a way of looking at you like you are his entire world.  Needless to say it works every time!

Frankie Is An Incredible Dog

Frankie’s inmate trainer says that the longer Frankie is with them the more they fall head over heels in love with this incredible boy! She says this boy is beyond sweet and affectionate.  He will cuddle with you and make you feel loved and happy.  She says that his expressive eyes can have you laughing and dishing out treats before you even know you’ve fallen under his charms.  So beware… he’s gonna work that to his advantage every time!  He knows all his commands, but they’re still working on “jump”.   He’s so tall that finding a good jump surface has been a challenge.  His fun personality is really starting to emerge as he becomes more comfortable and confident. His inmate trainer says that she can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Friendly And Funny Boy

Frankie has had a great week!  His inmate trainer says that he’s funny and friendly.  He has lots of comfy dog beds to choose from but still chooses to lay in the floor.  He loves people and other dogs.  He’s laid back with the other dogs and doesn’t let them ruffle his feathers.  They’ve been working on perfecting his “sit” this week and Frankie will follow through for a bit of peanut butter.  He’s a smart boy.  So smart that the terms of payment has to meet his approval.  His favorite toy is a green pig.  Now, the green pig is not his toy, but he knows where it lives.  He’s constantly “visiting” it even when his welcome has worn out.  LOL

What's Next For Frankie?

Frankie has had a good week!  He already knows most all of his commands and is working on some fun extras, but he can be a little saucy when it comes to responding.  He’s not especially treat motivated. He’ll eat them if they’re free and no response is required.  His inmate training team thinks Frankie might be a member of the upper crust society.  If he’s not in the mood, he’ll ignore the team until it suits him.  They’ve tried toys, but he’ll just catch them then drop ‘em and walk away.  There are times when he’ll pick out his own toy and play for a few minutes.  He does like rubber toys, especially if they are not in his possession.  Silly Boy! His inmate trainer says that she loves this sweet boy and can’t wait to see what he agrees to do next!

Big Time Leaner

Frankie is an absolute mess, but he is loves by all! He is affectionate like no other and leans so heavily on his trainer that when she moves he practically falls over. Frankie has an almost ridiculous obsessive laser focused intensity with some toys. A green rubber pig and yellow chicken’s days are numbered! When he sees them on the floor or in a kennel, he feels he requires their presence in his life.

Training is coming along. His trainers will keep on keeping on to get the work done.

Handsome and Adorable

Frankie has arrived for training!  His inmate trainer says that when Frankie first arrived he was reserved and a little unsure about this strange new place.  Seven days later he’s adjusting well and absolutely loves attention and love. He loves to play ball and carries a soccer ball around, stopping to whip it from side to side to see if he can keep it in his teeth.  When the ball bounces away he chases after it with glee!  He did great with his bath, but the whole teeth brushing thing seems rather odd. He wasn’t too sure about that brush thingy.  His inmate trainer says that he’s beyond handsome and adorable!
