Master of Fun
/Once again, Trax has had another productive week! He has greatly improved on his heel command, which is can be tough for greyhounds since they're sighthounds, and when they see something they want, boy can they go for it! But it's nothing that Trax can't handle. He's been polishing up his other basic commands, and has made massive strides with both duration and distance for the "stay" command. His trainer can walk behind him and out of sight and Trax stays This is yet another feat particularly for greyhounds, who are lovingly called Velcro dogs by many happy greyhound parents.
He worked on stairs this week and still has no trouble going up and down them. Since he's doing so well with his basic commands, he's been focusing on his extras, too. He now has mastered spin, bounce, and speak. His trainer says he won't be surprised if Trax has them mastered one week from now.
Sometimes Trax is having so much fun with a toy that it's like he's on the astral plane, and must be coaxed down to earth with us mere mortals, and relinquish a toy. So, his trainer asked several other trainers to practice "give it" with Trax, and Trax caught on quickly that hey, if I obey this command, I'll get treats from MORE people? Deal.
Wherever Trax lands when he falls from heaven and into your home, you are so lucky to get this bundle of unconditional love and energy and fun. Stay tuned to hear more about how Trax does with mastering those extras!
