Swap Week Superstar

This week was swap week for the dogs and the trainers. It's exactly what it sounds like: each dog is switched to a different primary trainer for a period of seven days. This allows the trainers to observe how the dog handles being away from the person who trained them for the last 8 weeks and had become in essence their best friend during that time.

When the dogs are first uprooted and moved to a new kennel it is a shock to their system and it sometimes takes a couple of days for them to adjust and to trust a new person. So it was with Ryder. But after day one he was much better. After day two it was like he had always been his secondary trainer's dog. Ryder is a sweet little guy full of energy. He loves to cut loose and run in the big yard (which of course is enclosed with a fence to prevent them from running too far). He likes playing with toys and he likes his chewable Nylabone and his kennel. He knows all of his basic commands and will respond to them quickly without delay. By the end of the week, he and his trainer were having so much fun together that his secondary trainer was sad to see him go.

Given a few days to settle into his new forever home, Ryder will be a great addition to his new forever family. He is a well-trained handsome Greyhound that loves life, and can't wait to love life with you!
