Playful and Happy

Another great week for Marshall!  He’s a happy dog and aims to please.  His inmate trainer says that Marshall can get a bit lazy at times, but other times he needs a nice walk or quick yard run to burn off his energy. 

This week they worked on the basics and how to play with toys without jumping on the human. He’s also been learning that barking when he does not get his way is not the way to win rewards. He’s a smart guy and catching on, but he’s not so sure it’s fair.  He is retired you know and should be living like a king with a table laden with treats.

He does really well with grooming.  He’s not sure about having his teeth brushed as he doesn’t know if he should try to chew it or just move is mouth with the motion of the brush.  He doesn’t mind being hugged or approached while eating.  His inmate trainer says that while Marshall is a playful guy he calms easily.
