Love, Love Patsy

This is the final week with Patsy and her trainer is sure going to miss this gal.  She has learned a lot in the past 10 weeks.  She passed her test.  Knows all of her basic commands and a few extras such as "back", "bow" and "kisses".  She has brains and beauty.  Who could resist her.

Patsy is a super sweet Greyhound.  She loves attention and will steal your heart with the first hug.

Can't Resist Me

Swap week was fun with Patsy!  Her trainer for the week said she is an awesome girl. She did all of her commands on point and with no treats.  He didn't have to show her a treat to follow through.

Patsy loves toys of all kinds, especially ones that make noise.  She also loves bouncy balls.  Get her attention with a toy and throw it, once she brings it back to her bed, throw another one.  She absolutely loves to play fetch and is getting pretty good at it.

Patsy gets excited when it's time to go outside.  If she pulls, just stop, tell her to "heel" and she will come back to your side.  She likes to make her human happy.

Patsy's trainer hopes you enjoy having her in your life as much as he has.  She will be a great companion furever.  Wishing you and Patsy the best! :)

Sharing is Caring

Patsy's inmate trainer is happy to report that Patsy has gotten much better about sharing and giving up her toys. They have a ways to go and she can be quite stubborn at times but she has made tremendous progress. Patsy has also improved a great deal with walking on shiny floors and walking on a leash. She knows all of her commands and can follow either hand or verbal commands. She is such a sweet and trusting dog that would be happy just hanging out on the couch with you.

Brains And Beauty

Patsy is doing great with all of her commands!  She has gotten a lot better about walking beside her trainer on a leash and waiting at doors.  Patsy's trainer has faith she will have these mastered before graduation.  She's a smart girl, no doubt.

Patsy loves to play with all sorts of toys.  She isn't choosy.  She likes them all.  Her trainer is helping her see that sharing and giving up toys is also fun.

Brains and beauty.  Patsy has them both.  Look out.  She will use them to steal your heart.

Holding Hands (and Paws!)

Patsy loves the big yard where she gets to race around with the other dogs in her class. When her secondary trainer runs with her, she doesn't seem to understand that humans aren't as fast as Greyhounds! She almost tripped her trainer from dancing around playfully. So, her trainer learned to tire her out first and then run with her. That way, they can enjoy running together.

Patsy is a sweetheart and loves to be petted on her hind legs and scratched around the ears (who doesn't?). When she lies on her dog bed, she likes to reach out her paw toward her trainer's hand. If her trainer shakes her paw lightly for a few minutes she falls asleep. Speaking of paws, the fur between her pads is a sensitive area. When her trainer runs his finger along the fur, her foot curls up and she pulls away. So, he realized she's ticklish.

Patsy is a very curious dog and when you bring her home, give her a while to explore the sights, sounds and smells of her new environment. It is sure to help make kennel time easier if you plan to put her in one while you're not home. Her secondary trainer said that if it were up to him, he'd keep Patsy for himself! It's hard not to get attached to these dogs when you have put so much time into getting to know and love them.

Patsy is a beautiful dog who loves to meet new people and make friends. If you take the time to bond with her, you will thank yourself every day that you did. She's a wonderful friend and is going to make a wonderful addition to your family.

Leader Of The Pack

Patsy is a greyt dog that does most of her commands perfectly the first time, like "hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "release", "heel", "here", "sit", "down", "bed" and "jump".   She's a little slow to respond to "wait" and "stay".  No worries there's plenty of training time to master them too.  Patsy has learned a few extras, like "bow", "give" and "take".

Patsy is doing much better playing with her toys.  Toys are a new experience to her.  She is learning to play fetch and "give" her toy up when asked.  Good girl Patsy.

When Patsy goes outside with the other greyhounds, she ends up leading the pack.  She loves running around the big yard with them.  Patsy is a super sweet greyhound that just loves attention of any kind.  She has an innocent heart and will steal yours, just as she has her inmate trainer's.  Just you wait and see . . .

Hugs Please

Patsy started learning to walk up and down stairs this week.  She caught on to the stair climbing fairly quickly.  It helps to have a yummy treat for her at the top and bottom.  She doesn't quite know how to play with toys.  She will get one in her mouth and run around hanging on to it for dear life.  Silly girl.

Patsy knows all of her commands well, but needs a little more work on the "stay" and "wait" commands.  He's quite sure she will have them mastered very soon.  He is planning on teaching Patsy a few extra commands in the coming weeks.  "Bow" is one of them.

Patsy is an extremely sweet and loving greyhound that doesn't mind getting lots of love and hugs!  If you have plenty of hugs to give, then Patsy Cline is your girl.

Sweet, Smart and Playful

Patsy is doing great! By the end of Week 3, she already knows almost all of her basic commands. She has improved considerably with being around crowds and dealing with sudden noises. She is a super sweet and very smart girl.

Patsy loves to run and play with the other dogs when it's time to go outside. When she's inside, she likes to lay on her bed but she loves to hang out in her kennel. Her inmate trainer is going to start teaching her how to share toys with the other Greyhounds and some extra tricks in Week 4! He has no doubt that Patsy will make a great addition to her forever family.

Lady Love

Patsy has learned so much is such a short time!  She and her trainer spent the first few days getting to know each other and then it was time for learning.  Patsy has learned the basics of how to walk on a leash and some commands like "kennel", "sit", "down", "heel", "here","wait" and "leave it".  She is a quick learner and eager to please.

Patsy's inmate trainer will introduce more commands during the week and reinforce the ones she knows well.  After all, she is smart, sweet and loving.  She's an absolute lady!  You can't go wrong with Patsy.

Bundle Of Joy

Patsy and her inmate trainer have spent the first days bonding and working on getting into a routine.  She is a little bit shy, but a very sweet girl.  She is unsure of the prison environment, but it takes some time getting used to all the new noises and hustle and bustle in the dorm.  Once Patsy gets outside she becomes playful and loves to run.  She is a bundle of joy!

Patsy is very smart and her trainer believes she will know all of her commands in a short time.  He is really looking forward to Patsy's training sessions next week.  He knows she is going to do well.  Stay tuned...
