Swap Week Shenanigans!
/Swap week!!! This week, a new team got to spend the whole week with Darling Darcie. She was such a pleasure to work and spend time with, and man is her coat silky soft! It’s like a Persian cat’s fur! Darcie went to Mac’s primary trainer, and it was a big change - she’s about 20 pounds lighter, but like Mac and the rest of her classmates, she is very sweet. Darcie did a great job doing her commands for a new person and proved to be very passive and easy-going with her swap week training team. Mostly, this week was about testing for separation anxiety and how they handle sudden changes in their environment. She showed no signs of separation anxiety, which is a fancy way of saying “getting upset.” Her trainer went through all of her commands a few times a day and got to play a lot with her, and she loved it! Her swap week trainer’s bunk bed is closer to where there is more foot traffic in the dorm, and Darcie loved the attention!
After the week was over, Darcie had to go back to her primary trainer. Her swap week trainer is going to miss her; ten weeks is a short time when the dogs are this lovable!
