Axel's Happiness Is Contagious

Not sure how week 10 arrived so quickly, but here we are.  Axel’s inmate trainer says that she’s going to have a hard time letting this wonderful guy go!  He’s toy obsessed, adorable, and a sweetheart.  He’s active and happy which makes each day a little better. H is happiness is contagious and his inmate trainer says that some of her favorite times are when Axel is being lazy, loving, and content.  His inmate trainer says that she hopes he finds the perfect forever home that will love him for all of his days.

Bird Watcher

Axel’s inmate trainer says that he is absolutely amazing!  He’s loving and affectionate especially when he’s the only dog. He’s still a toy thief, but an adorable thief. His inmate trainer says that her favorite time of the day with him is in the mornings or when he hasn’t seen her in a while.  He tries to get as close to her as possible.  He wags his tail with happiness and you can’t help but feel loved!  When he goes outside he looks for birds then proceeds to stalk them.  She says it’s quite the sight to see!

Very Lovable Boy!

Axel is a really great dog. He actually wants to play with other dogs. It’s okay until toys enter the picture. Training is going great. He knows all his commands and some extras. He’s a lovable and handsome boy!

What his trainer loves most about Axel is how loving he is, especially in the mornings. He comes out of his kennel so sleepy and cute trying to rub his head on her leg, wagging his tail the entire time. Sometimes he will lay by his trainer. He tries to get as close to her as he can. Axel has laid by his trainer, even with a toy by his head. He is really, really lovable and the perfect family is out there for Axel.

Axel Loves The Snow!

Axel loves the snow! He ran around in it. Sniffing everywhere and wanting to run with the other greyhounds. He was so cute. Toys are still a big distraction for Axel. He does undergo training where there are toys and he is instructed to leave it. He knows all his commands and quite a few extras as well. (Leave it, move, off, out, drop it and give).

Axel has become so loving towards his trainers. He loves for them to pet and talk to him. He will wag his tail in happiness. Axel goes into the room with his trainers and lays between the beds. They put a blanket over him and he will sleep, cuddled up under the blanket. Axel is lovable and his trainer believes there is a forever home out there just for him.

Ear Scratches Please

….And Axel loves his toys! Once he sets his sights on a toy, he can be stubborn and lack self control. He wants any and all toys for himself and his negative behaviors come out in the presence of other dogs. He would probably do best being an only dog. On his own with toys, there are no problems. In fact, he loves it when his trainers play with him. He loves attention from his people. He loves for you to scratch behind his ears. When Axel hasn’t seen his trainer for a bit, he is so happy, wagging his tail when she appears. Axel is a love bug and a great boy. He knows all his basic commands well and some extras as well. He knows leave it, move, off, out, and drop it. His trainers are so proud of Axel’s progress.

Handsome Blue Brindle Boy!

Axel is doing great!  He gets along with the other dogs and enjoys getting attention from humans.  His inmate trainer says that Axel is a really sweet guy!  He absolutely loves toys so they continue to work on his toy obsession.  His inmate trainer says that she’s looking forward to seeing what Axel discovers next.  She believes he’s going to make his new forever family very happy.

Always Up For Attention

Axel the toy obsessed sweetie.  His inmate trainer says that they are working on teaching him to share his toys and not hoard everything.  He’s showing much improvement with sharing! They are using the “leave it” command. He loves to run and play with the other dogs, but still wants ownership of any toys introduced during play.  He’s a loving guy who is always up for attention.  He can be a little hesitant with new people, but as soon as he’s comfortable, he’s ready for attention.  His inmate trainer says that she absolutely adores this sweet boy!

Toys!

Axel’s obsession with toys continues!  He’ll stare at any toy he wants and doesn’t believe that any other dog should be in possession of toys.  All toys should be in his possession.  He’s quite the hoarder.  His inmate trainer says that she’s pleased to say they are making progress with re-directing his attention.  She says that Axel is a very loving guy and you can’t help falling in love with him.  He loves to chase a ball and you have to make him stop and rest.  His inmate trainer says that he’s such a fun guy and she’s enjoying her time with him.

Quick Learner

Axel is having a great time with his inmate training team.   His inmate trainer says that he’s a quick learner.  He loves toys and wants to hoard them all.  He’s learned a lot of his commands already; down, bed, leave it, wait and release.  He had a play date with Milly recently and did really well.  He enjoys playing with his secondary inmate trainer in the training room every morning.  They also jog around with him outside.  She says he’s a loving dog who adores attention.  He’s doing a great job adapting to this new environment.

Laid Back and Easy Going

Axel’s inmate trainer says that during the first week Axel has been laid back and easy going.  He’s been doing well with commands already.  He’s discovered squeaky toys and loves them! Axel is very sweet and loves attention and has started walking around and inviting attention from other humans.  When “potty break” is called he is patient and doesn’t jump or pace around.  He waits for his inmate trainer with his tail wagging in anticipation. His inmate trainer says that she’s excited to see what Axel discovers over the next few weeks!
