Grinning Girl

It’s week 10 and it’s been a fun time teaching Bella her basic commands and some extras, like spin, shake, and high five. She loves to meet new people with a grin on her face, which comes natural for her. Her trainer said it has been a wonderful experience being able to have the opportunity to prepare her for a life beyond the track. Thank you for giving Bella a place to call home.

Bella has made some lasting memories that her trainer will share with others for years to come. Now it’s time for her to make memories with you.

Bella Will Steal Your Heart

What a totally adorable, energetic and sweet dog! Bella will steal your heart in an instant, so be prepared.

This week was swap week and Bella immediately adapted to her alternative trainer’s methods and showed no signs of separation anxiety. She is a well trained girl and executed all of the commands for him as well. He enjoyed having Bella this week. He said you will love her. She is amazing.

Back Away From The Toy

Week 8 has come and gone already!  Bella had a pre-test exam and passed with flying colors.  They started with toy etiquette to see if she had any problems giving up the toy when requested and she did amazing!  When the “leave it” command was given she backed away from the toy and gave eye contact with her inmate trainer!  Fantastic job Bella!

They next went over her feeding routine… relaxed kennel presence, exit to heel, sit and stay while food bowl is placed down for chow time.  Her inmate trainer said she did great with this routine.  After eating, they followed up with a run through of all her commands and she did a fantastic job!

Smarty Pants

It was a great week with Bella as always. She has done so well with her commands and her distance and duration training. She will let you leave her sight while holding the sit, down and stay position. She will also “stay” on her bed when told to.

This week Bella’s her trainer taught her spin, shake and high five. After she has these mastered, he plans to work on “roll over.” Her trainer is amazed at how smart she is and how quick she catches on to things. Check back next week to see what else she has learned.

Greyt Addition

Hey Bella fans and welcome to week 6! This week started with a run on the big yard. She had a blast running with her buddies. She prepared herself for “Show Your Tail” and it was a success. As a reward for doing great, she played on her bed during movie time, which included lots of treats and petting.

Bella loves toys. She goes crazy over them, but does calm very easy when told to. This girl is not scared of anyone. She loves attention any way she can get it. Bella will most certainly make an awesome addition to your family.

A New Best Friend

Belle’s inmate trainer says that it’s been a fun week!  They have been playing with toys and teaching her how to release the toy when requested.  He says that she’s been doing well with this just like she does with everything else.   They have been working on fine tuning her response to all her commands as well as building on distance and duration.

Her biggest challenge this week has been exiting her kennel in a calm manner.  She’s been so excited that she just can’t wait to come out and see what’s happening.   Her inmate trainer has her go back in and practice exiting with lady like grace.  She’s getting it figured out, but tried to explain to her inmate trainer that she likes a world filled with enthusiasm better than all that graceful stuff.

Star Student

Hey everyone! What a fun week Belle had. She did great at show your tail and knows all of her commands. They are focusing on distance and duration now, along with cleaning up the minor details. She was also introduced to toys this week. At first she was a little shy and confused, but after a couple of minutes she started playing around with them. Once she gets more comfortable with the toys, her trainer will start working on toy etiquette.

Belle got to run for the first time last week and she loved it! She ran the whole time she was on the big yard and she is fast! It was good to let her run and burn some of her energy off, and she has just been doing so great. Her trainer can't wait to see what extras he can teach her. Also, Bella knows no stranger. She is always happy and excited to meet and greet new people. The greeting part is something they're working on because of her excitement, but he is sure that she will exceed at learning this as she has done with the rest of her training. Until next week!

One Smart Cookie!

Belle has done so well with her commands this week that her trainer introduced her to down and jump. Her trainer is so amazed at how smart she is and how quickly she picks up new commands. This week at show and tail she did great on all her commands except “leave it”. Belle is bound to have some hiccups this early in her training, but her trainer is very proud at how well she follows directions.

Belle is doing very well with the “stay” command and her trainer can walk out of sight and come back and she’s still on her bed waiting for the “release” command. Belle also has the feeding routine down pat. This girl is one smart cookie!

Belle is still a huge people lover. She loves getting all the attention she can and who can resist her cuteness!

Belle Will Greet You With A Tail Wag & Kiss

It’s been another great week for Bella!  Her inmate trainer says that she’s a tiny ball of fun!  So far the main focus of her training has been teaching her when it’s time to work and when it’s time to play.  She’s been doing well with her leash training and has caught on to hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait and bed!  They introduced sit, stay, here and leave it this week and she picked them up very quickly.  Her inmate trainer says that with just a little shaping up she’ll have those commands down perfectly.

Bella spent some time exploring this week.  Her tail is constantly wagging and she loves to greet everyone!  She greets people with a wagging tail and a sweet little kiss on the hand.  She enjoys being around the other greyhounds and loves to lick their fur!

The Belle of the Ball

Hey everyone, it's Bella's first week and she is doing great. She was so excited when she arrived here and that hasn't stopped. She did very well with her bath, ear-cleaning and de-ticking. She is very happy and full of life. She also likes giving kisses! Bella has picked up leash-walking pretty quickly and seems to enjoy training time so far. Along with the leash-walking, she and her trainer have been working on their bond and kennel etiquette (like wait, release and not running out when the kennel is opened, let's go, wait, hurry, and responding to her name). Her trainer can't wait to see how well she does this session and looks forward to updating you every week!
