Can't Resist Kane's Charm

Kane visited with an alternate inmate training team for Swap Week.  What’s Swap Week you ask?  It’s the time in training where the inmates swap dogs to work on commands and see how the dogs do away from their primary training team.  

Kane passed with flying colors!  His alternate inmate handler says that Kane is a sweet and loving boy who is sure to make a great addition to his forever family. Be warned Kane is a master beggar for food and attention and when you look into those eyes, you find yourself giving in!  He uses those soulful eyes while his tail begins thumping away.  Your mind knows it’s a trap, but you just can’t resist his charm!  

Belly Rubs Please

Kane has been progressing well in regards to his ability and willingness to follow commands, as well as his general behavior. He has mastered all his commands and knows them with hand signals too. He enjoys playing with his favorite toy, a purple dinosaur, and loves having his belly rubbed.

This week Kane worked on stair training. He was a natural at it, which is surprising as there’s no stairs at the kennel or track. He went up and down them like a pro. Kane is a loving affectionate boy that is sure to win your heart. Won’t you give him a chance?

Get Ready For Kane

One week closer to graduation!  Kane’s inmate trainer says that it’s been a wonderful week! Kane’s been playing with different toys and he loves it!  His inmate trainer says that Kane is not destructive with his toys.  He only likes to sling them around and run after them.  

Kane’s inmate trainer says to prepare yourself for Kane’s expressive eyes.  He’ll have you hooked around his paw within a few bats of his eyelashes.  

Falling For Kane

Kane’s secondary trainer said he has fallen for Kane. He’s calmly affectionate and can be a couch potato or a playful boy, depending on how you interact with him. He’s caught on fast to all the commands so far. They have been working with the “give” command with toys and food . So far so good.

All in all, Kane is a fast learner and his trainer has no doubt that he will make a great addition to your family.

Brilliant Boy

Week five is in the books!  Kane is doing great and sitting on command these days.  His inmate trainer says that he’s very impressed with how brilliant Kane is.  He listens well, which makes things go a lot easier. 

His inmate trainer says that it’s important that Kane has fun so they’ve been taking their time with training.   Toys were introduced this week and he loves them!  He gets excited when he knows it’s play time, but he waits calmly for his trainer to give him the toy.  

Quick Learner

Kane’s inmate trainer says that this has been one of the best weeks!  Kane got to socialize and investigate everything!  Kane’s a quick learner and highly treat motivated, so training this guy is going to be easy.   

Kane’s a great dog who loves to play.  He can have a little greyhound stubbornness from time to time.  His inmate trainer says that if dogs could laugh Kane would surely be laughing at him because he’s always doing some new voice or acting silly for Kane’s entertainment and attention.  His inmate trainer says that he thinks than Kane has taught him far more than he’s taught Kane.  

Laid-Back Days with Kane

Dear forever family,

Kane's trainer would like to welcome you to this week's blog by telling you how much he enjoys working with Kane. He is so affectionate and loving. He enjoys just lying on the bed by his trainer, watching tv and soaking up the attention, which could be an ear scratching or belly rub. Kane loves them both. Training is going good and next week his trainer will introduce him to a bunch more commands.

Well, Kane and his trainer both agree that it's time to get to work, so tune in next week for more!

What's Next?

This week has been full of training and treat rewards.  They’ve focused on kennel training  and Kane is very good about going in and coming out!  He hasn’t had any trouble picking up on commands and his inmate trainer says that it’s been a joy working with Kane.  

Kane is an affectionate boy who enjoys attention.  His inmate trainer says that he’s looking forward to the next 8 weeks of training to see what Kane learns next! 

Kool Kane

Greetings and Happy New Year from the crew at Jenkins. Welcome to the end of week one with Kane. So far Kane and his trainer worked on building a bond and leash walking. He is responding well. Kane is an affectionate and sweet boy and his trainer is happy he gets to spend the next 9 weeks with him.
