Forever Home-bound!

Hello again from Bo’s secondary trainer! It’s the end of the training session and Bo’s trainer is delighted by how easy Bo was to work with and train. He was such a dream during the whole training process and was definitely one of the trainers’ overall favorites. He is very calm but enjoys getting lots of attention, as well as having his playtime with toys.

His training team has given him lots of love, and now it’s your turn! He has been wonderful to everyone here in the program, and all he needs is someone who will give him the love and attention that he deserves – and hopefully you’re ready to get that back tenfold!

Bo will make a wonderful new member of your family. His trainers will miss him, but will sleep easy knowing he’s off to his forever home full of love!

Bo's The Best!

This week was swap week. This is where the greyhounds are swapped with a different trainer to see how they perform their commands for someone, other than their primary trainer and to see if they have any separation anxiety. When Bo’s swap week trainer saw him, he expected an easy week and Bo delivered. He did great with his commands, scoring nearly all 10’s during show and tell. He showed no signs of separation anxiety. With his eager to please, laid back yet friendly attitude, Bo instantly settled in with his swap week team.

The only time Bo gets excited is when the squeaky toys come out. He almost always gives them when told and waits for them to be thrown again. He’s such a good boy. All this leaves his trainer confident Bo will quickly settle in with his new forever family. He’s ready to give you life-long love and affection.

Lots Of Love To Give

Where to start…Bo has been a fun-loving pup to work with during this session so far.  He is very smart and has done well with the training exercises.  He is a wonderful, fun-loving greyhound that likes to be loved on.  He is very calm and loves to relax and hang out with his humans.  He also has lots of fun during playtime.

Bo has a lot of love to give.  I hope you give him all the love and affection he so much deserves.

Dorm Fave

Welcome back Bo admirers. It’s week 7 and Bo is sure to knock your socks off, like he did at show and tell this week. Bo’s trainers work on his commands a few times every day and he’s got them pretty much down to perfection.

He got to explore the dorm off leash and get some pets, scratches and loving from the other trainers. He is so well behaved around different people. He loves the attention and has become a dorm favorite.

Bo had fun on the small yard with his toys. He likes to fetch them and bring them back to his trainer. Bo’s a natural. He taught himself how to fetch. You are going to have so much fun with Bo!

Ready for Retirement

It’s week six!  Bo’s inmate trainer says that Bo’s doing great with his commands.  He follows through and enjoys treats and praise.  Bo’s a calm guy who is well behaved and enjoys play time whenever possible.

Bo’s inmate trainer says that he believes that Bo is going to make a wonderful addition to some lucky family.  He hopes that his forever family will give him lots of love and attention during his retirement days.

Yep. I Can Fetch.

Welcome to week 5 – already! Bo’s inmate trainer says that Bo’s a wonderful dog!  While outside in the big yard his tail starts wagging and he runs and plays with happiness with the other dogs.  He does great with the other dogs and humans.  He calms easily even when he’s excited.

This week he had great fun with a squeaky toy.  He will prick it up and bring it back to his trainer, without being taught how to do it!  He’s a natural!

America's Next Top Good Boy

Welcome to week four! We are almost halfway through the session. Bo is doing great on his training and did awesome at show and tell this week. He had stair training for the first time this week and he did great for his first time! He learns very quickly and loves to run. I know it’s redundant to say about a greyhound, but he is just SO FAST!

He is working on jump and perfecting the things that he already knows. Bo laid on his daybed all weekend with his chew bone covered in peanut butter and could not have been happier. That’s his reward for being a good boy, which is all the time! More to come next week, Bo fans.

Quick To Learn

Week three complete! Bo did great during Show and Tell this week.  He’s quick to learn and doesn’t mind showing off his skills.  He loves playing with toys during training time.  During playtime he picks out his toy of choice and brings it back to his bed tossing it around before settling in for a bit of chewing.

His inmate trainer says that Bo’s great, walking on the leash.  He’s well mannered around the other Greys.  He enjoys sleeping on his back in the kennel with his feet up in the air with his tongue hanging out.  It’s a sight to see!

Bonkers for Bo

Welcome to week two! Bo is progressing with his training very well. He has been working on a couple of different commands this past week, like hurry, let's go, kennel, heel and leash walking. He is a very intelligent dog who is quick to pick up on things. It's pretty amazing! He is calm and collected when training, but he loves attention and affection. His trainer enjoys working with him and feels honored to have the privilege to train him. They're going to work on sit and some other commands, but more on that next week.

Beau-dacious!

Hello and welcome to Week 1 through the eyes of WW Beauregarde! When I arrived at Second Chance Greyhounds Academy, I was thinking “where am I, and who are all these humans, and what am I doing here?!” When I came out of the hauler that brought me here, I saw other greyhounds leaving as I was just arriving. I had a collar and leash put on me as I was walking towards a big building. I noticed some more humans and they were very nice to me. I entered the building and saw a sign that had a picture that looks like me on it! It read Second Chance Greyhounds.

I was nervous, because I didn't know anything about this - it was all new to me. There were Greyhounds other than myself getting baths and their ears cleaned and their teeth brushed. Talk about nice treatment! I have a human that is helping me learn things that I didn't know before, like how to relax and have fun. All I knew was running at the track, but now I'm learning some new things starting with my new name, which is Bo! I'm also learning how to be a pet and a family member. Until next time, I've got some studying and learning to do! Like how to get more treats!
