A Little Bit of Love Goes a Long Way

Emma has really been such a great pup to take care of and train. She is so smart and has a huge heart, and you’ll see for yourself soon enough! She is a little bit shy, but she loves a good rub and scratch behind her ears. Greyhounds’ lives before the program aren’t too exciting, but when you pet little Emma and show her even just a little bit of kindness, you can see a lot of love activated – and a warm heart ready for a family and a good forever home, filled with people to return that love and affection. Little Emma is a wonderful greyhound. She is still almost a puppy in mind and body, so you will get the thrill and memories of raising her up into your own four-legged family member. You are going to love her! She is a super dog.

A special note from her trainer: “Thank you for giving her a forever home. She is a sweetheart and I know she will become part of your family instantly, and you’ll see her as a blessing right away. Bye for now, and Emma says ‘see you soon!’”

Emma's Gonna Capture Your Heart!

Emma did great during Swap Week this week!  The inmate trainers swap dogs to go over commands and give the dogs some time away from their primary trainers.  Miss Emma knows all of her commands really well.  Her alternate inmate trainer says that Emma is a sweetheart who enjoys spending time with humans and absorbs love like a sponge.

Emma is treat motivated and has a great personality that’s easy to love.  She did great during Show n’ Tell with her commands.  She gets excited when it’s time to come out of her kennel, but she calms easily.  She walks well on the leash and will surely capture the hearts of all those she meets!

Super Sweet Girl

Emma is great!  Her inmate trainer says that it’s been a blast training her over the past 8 weeks.  He says that she’s good both in and out of her kennel.  She does really well with “hurry”.  She’s a sweet natured girl who can be a little shy with new people and situations.  She just need a little time to warm up.

Her inmate trainer says that he’s sure that her new family is going to love this wonderful girl!

You're Gonna Fall In Love

Emma is coming along great! She has learned all of her commands very quickly.  She works hard to make her human happy and earning yummy treats don’t hurt anything either!  He says that when she’s learning new things you can see the wheels turning as she tries to figure them out.

She can be a little shy when walking toward or past the guards, but with a few calming words she braves her way through the uncomfortable.

Her inmate trainer says that he’s sure you’re gonna fall in love with Emma!  He’s really enjoying her time with her.

Big Heart In A Little Package

Emma is a great little greyhound. She has been a perfect mannered dog from day one. She is a little on the shy side, but makes up for that being the sweetest, loving little pup. A little time to bond and patience goes a long way. She’s also very smart and learned her commands before a lot of her classmates. Stairs were also no problem for little Miss Emma. Her trainer said she is a joy to have around and a low maintenance hound.

Emma ran with the other greyhounds the other day. She lived up to her race name (Take Notice). Even though she’s small, she runs like the wind with the biggest of them all. She’s a great girl as you will soon see.

Little Princess

Emma’s inmate trainer says that she’s really come out of her shell this week.  He says that she’s wagging her tail and has even barked once or twice when she gets excited.   She’s still a little uncomfortable around loud noises and sudden movements, but he says it’s been a joy to see her progress.  She hasn’t shown much interest in chasing squeaky toys yet, but does enjoy chewing a nyla bone while relaxing on the bed.  He says she’s quite the princess!

She’s doing really well with her commands and knows most all of them with both hand signal and verbal cues. Her inmate trainer says that he’s looking forward to seeing her progress in the days to come.

Here to impress

This new week brought a couple of new experiences for Emma.  She experienced stairs for the first time and they didn’t seem to bother her one bit.  She was just as confortable with the stairs as if she was out for a morning stroll. Very impressive indeed!

She also got to run off leash this week!  Her inmate trainer says it was a sight to see!  She took off like lightening and ran with happiness.  He says she’s a great girl and a joy to have around.

A Real "Go Getter"

Emma has made leaps and bounds in her training this week. She is learning multiple commands simultaneously! She certainly puts the word smart in “One Smart Cookie!”. She’s going to have her commands mastered in no time.

Emma gets very excited when they make their way to the training room. She’s is eager to do any command asked of her. Her trainer thinks Emma is ready for her relaxing, fun-filled life of retirement!

One Smart Cookie

Emma is acclimating very well to her new environment. She has grown accustomed to the variety of people and will even venture out on her own to visit with others, assuming they are nice and quiet of course. This princess certainly prefers her peace and quiet. Since coming out of her shell, she has proven to be quite the smart cookie. They've begun more lengthy training sessions and she's picking up everything with ease. Emma has learned bed, here, stay and sit, all in these past two weeks. She's making tremendous progress and will surely learn the rest of her commands in no time at all!

A Gem Of A Girl

We are pleased to announce the newest member of SCG training program family. Her name is Emma. She is a sweet and gentle greyhound that will take in as much love and affection as you are willing to give.

Emma’s first experience here was, at least in her eyes, a little overwhelming. Of course, who can blame her? She was dropped off at a new place, got cleaned from head to paws, nails trimmed and ears cleaned. Emma is truly a girl of simple taste, as she would much prefer a nice quiet evening at home than a day of getting pampered at the spa. While it takes some time for Emma to warm up to you, she clearly prefers you attention once she does. Next week starts training. More updates on that next week.
