One Smart Cookie

Week 9 has come and gone.  It’s also known as Swap Week.  This time in training the dogs spend time with an alternate training team to go over commands and to see how they adjust to a new training team.

Ginger’s alternate inmate trainer says that Ginger is a great companion!  He said that she is by far the sweetest girl he’s ever met!  She’s one smart cookie who didn’t have any problems preforming her commands.  She didn’t seem to mind being away from her primary training team.  He says that she was an absolute pleasure to have around.

Ice Cubes!

Ginger loves ice.  She will do all her commands for a cube of that frozen stuff.  She did all her commands and her extras (give, shake hands, high-5, catch and kiss) with no problems for her alternate trainer during show and tail this week.  Ginger has always been very smart, but not all that playful, but for the last couple of weeks, she has been very playful with her toys.  She plays with them for a bit and then it’s nap time.  Ginger likes to sleep with her face covered up.  She either puts her head under her blanket or under her pillow.  She is one silly pup.

Beautiful Beyond Measure

Ginger’s inmate trainer says that Ginger is an exceptional girl.  She has a wonderful personality and is beautiful beyond measure.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s a pleasure to walk on a leash and to just be around.

It’s the half way point of training and Ginger is doing great in every area.  She’s adjusted to her new routine quickly and seems to adapt to change well.  Her inmate trainer says that her new family is going to be very lucky to have this girl in their lives.

"High-Five"

Ginger is on a roll! She once again received all 10’s on her weekly testing. This included her extra: shake hands and give high-fives. What a smart girl!

Ginger enjoys playing with toys and plays well with the other dogs. She does tend to hoard all the toys on her bed. She’s such a silly girl. Ginger absolutely loves to run with the group. She gets very excited while waiting her turn to run. So excited, her whole body shake with excitement. Even though she likes to play and run, she is very calm on the leash. Perfect leash manners. Ginger is one greyt dog!

"Shake Hands"

Ginger’s trainer is very proud of this girl.  She made a perfect score on her commands during “show and tail” this week.  She has become quite proficient on all 13 basic commands and also one extra, “shake hands.”

Ginger started playing more with toys.  She tends to carry them all to her bed to play with.  Ginger is a very sweet, gentle dog with a loving nature.  She is a fantastic dog and friend to her trainer.  He’s going to miss her.

Gentle Ginger

Ginger is doing exceptionally well. At this week's show and tail, she did very well on all of her commands. At this point in the session, she has some idea of all 13 basic commands. Her training team has also introduce her to toys, which she so far shows little interest in. Ginger would rather have a belly rub than play. However, she may open up as time progresses. Hopefully next week she will get the chance to stretch her legs, running outside with her greyhound pals. Ginger is such a joy to train!

Smart Girl

Ginger has had a great week! Her inmate trainer says that she’s learned so much so quickly.  This week they worked on:  stay, leave-it, sit, here, heel and wait along with following up with commands from last week.  She’s picking up things with lightning speed and her inmate trainer thinks she’ll be at the top of her game by week 7.

Ginger is a very sweet girl who  never meets a stranger.  She’s calm and enjoys lying around watching TV and chewing on her bone.  She’s a wonderfully smart girl and a joy to train.

Hello Friend

Ginger and her trainer have spent the first week getting to know each other. She has done great getting acclimated to her new temporary home. She likes to walk around the dorm exploring.

They have worked on leash walking, wait, heel, let’s go and kennel. Ginger is a sweet and smart greyhound and is picking up on the commands quickly. Her trainer is enjoying his time with Ginger.
