Forever Family Here I Come!

Swap week time!  This is the time when the inmates swap Greyhounds.  The Greyhounds get to work on commands with different teams to ensure responsiveness and determine if there are any areas that need a little more work.

Skylar’s alternate inmate trainer says that he enjoyed his time with this cute bundle of energy!  He says that Skylar loves to be out of her kennel and a part of the action.  She brought plenty of smiles with her kid at Christmas morning personality.  She starts each new day with happiness and joy.

He says that Skylar knows all of her commands and that her primary trainer has done really well with her training.  She didn’t have any problems being away from her primary training team and adjusted well to the change.  Her alternate inmate trainer says that the week flew by and knows that Skylar will bring much joy into her forever home!

The Good Life

Skylar has such a wonderful spirit and her heart is so wide open. She loves to play and run and she is full of energy, but she calms down easily. She did her commands for the alternate trainer on her team this week at show and tell and she did amazingly! She even did great with her extra commands. She's just a big, brown eyed girl having lots of fun. And she can't wait to meet you!

Smarty Pants Skylar

Skylar continues to do well with her commands and she's even added another extra this week. She's learning well, and she knows all of her basic commands very well. So far the extra commands that she knows are leave it, catch, spin, fetch, paws up, and bow. She knows leave it very well, but is a little slow to respond to the other extras. But we've got four more weeks and she's going to knock them out of the park. Skylar is just a good dog looking for a good home!

Black Beauty in the house!

Well, another good week with Skylar, the fun-loving and playful Greyhound. Skylar is a good learner. She has added a few more commands to the repertoire this week: fetch and spin! Skylar will go get the toy and bring it back and drop it, waiting on her kibble.  She has been working on  spin.  It's a little slower in perfecting, but she'll keep working on that!  She has also been in the training room with other dogs this week and is doing great. She's such a beauty, too! What a total package. Check back next week to see what she's up to and for more reasons to add Skylar to your pack ;)

"Paws Up"

Skylar’s is doing really well with her training.  Her inmate trainer says she’s making great progress and preforming her commands with other trainers with no problem.  Ms. Skylar has been busy learning a few extra commands as well.  She’s been working to master Leave It, Catch, and Paws Up.  She’s still a little slow responding, but her inmate trainer knows that she’ll have it figured out in no time.

Skylar seems to be enjoying herself.  She spends her days training, playing with toys and running in the big yard.  Her inmate trainer believes that Skylar is going to make a great addition to some lucky family.  Could it be yours?

Toss me a marshmallow!

Well this week Skylar has shown great progress with her commands and we've added down, jump, and off as well. They started with catch, and they've been tossing marshmallows into the air for her to catch in her mouth. She's doing pretty good with that. She continues to run really fast on the big yard every time she's let out. She also enjoys stuffed animals. Her secondary trainer has started feeding her in the afternoon and she is doing good with him as well. More next week!

Run Skylar Run!

Skylar is doing great with her commands!  She’s working on leash walking, wait, sit, kennel and bed.  She’s currently side-sitting, but her inmate trainer is working to show her how to do a full sit.  They also worked on stairs this week and Skylar did really well!

She’s played a little with toys, but hasn’t found a favorite yet.  She enjoyed some playtime outdoors and showed off how fast she is.  Skylar’s inmate trainer says that he has no doubt Skylar will be a pro with all her commands soon!

Sweet Girl

It's the start of another 10 weeks. We have in the lineup Skylar, a sweet little 58-lb black female Greyhound. She's going to be learning some basic commands this week and so far they've mostly been working on her name, leash walking, kennel, and heel. Skylar has been doing good with feeding so far and has had no problems with stay. Tune in next week for more to come! And thanks for stopping by.
