Treats Please

Hugo is such an affectionate boy. He loves to stand by his trainers side as if presenting himself, but all he wants is to be loved on. He also can be a stubborn dog, but his sweetness outweighs that. Hugo’s favorite place is in the TV/Training room. He tries to drag his trainer there every chance he gets so he can relax on the big dog beds and watch TV and sleep. Hugo likes his kennel, but he loves the big comfy dog beds in the training room.

Hugo refuses to work for free. Give him a command with no treat and he just stands there. But if you have a treat in your hand, he’ll trip all over himself in order to get it! This boy is absolutely a manipulator and he’s so cute while doing it!

TV Watcher

Hugo has had a great week! Training is still going well. He’s not to keen on working for free. He likes the treat rewards that he receives after doing what is asked of him. He can be very stubborn and only a piece of kibble for a job well done is all he needs. LOL

Hugo is an intelligent and loyal pup. He is very affectionate too and his trainer is going to miss seeing him every day when he goes to his forever home. She hopes Hugo’s forever family likes to watch, because he sure does.

Loving My Big Comfy Bed!

Hugo is such a special boy!  He loves big comfy beds.  Once he’s found the proper softness he goes right to sleep.  His inmate trainer says that if Hugo doesn’t get his way about something he’ll pout by turning his back on you like a spoiled child.  She says she tries not to laugh as she corrects him, but she can just picture him with a pouty lip trying to get his way.  She says she’s enjoying working with this sweet boy and can’t wait to see what he learns next!

So Darn Sweet!

Hugo is not only handsome, but he knows how to use his eyes to get his way.  His inmate trainer says that he can have a little bit of a stubborn side and tries to convince her that he’s right.  She says he’s so darn loving and sweet you have to work hard not to give in.  He’s shown great improvement with the “stay” and “here” commands and she’s super proud of his progress.  She’s enjoying her time with this sweet guy and can’t wait to see what he learns next!

Fun Boy!

Hugo has had a challenging week in that he is challenging his trainer. LOL! He definitely wants to be sure she is on her toes! He loves to rearrange his bedding, and throw his water bowl through the air in the TV room which is quite comical.

He is also so very sweet and loving. He’s tried to resource guard a few toys but is already doing better with some guidance from his trainer.

Hugo is a fast learner although suddenly he has forgotten the command “here” and is stuggling with “stay”. He knows both and is making great progress adding these two commands to his repertoire.

Hugo may be five years old but he has the spirit of a two year old! He’s been such a joy to train!

Great Guy!

Hugo is doing great with his commands!  His personality continues to emerge with a little sassy and sweet mix that is pretty adorable.  His inmate trainer says that Hugo is great guy!  When he doesn’t get what he wants, he’ll toss a toy around to show his displeasure.  While he’s trying to make a statement, he’s being too cute for words.  He listens well and follows through with his commands with happiness, especially when treats are available.

Fun To Be Around

Hugo has had a great week.  He’s continuing to come out of his shell… if he ever had a shell.  LOL. He’s an energetic guy who is fun to be around.  He hasn’t had a chance to run outside yet, but his inmate trainer is excited to see him playing and running around the dorm. He loves laying in front of his fan especially when it’s hot.  He doesn’t mind being in his kennel.  He seems to enjoy watching TV.  He’ll stare at the screen like he knows what’s going on. His inmate trainer says that she’s really enjoying this silly boy!

Handsome Hugo

Hugo has had a great first week!  His inmate trainer says they are working on teaching him his name.  He’s already following through with the “bed” and “down” commands.  She believes he’s going to be a very fast learner.  He loves his fan and soft pillow in his kennel.  He’ll play in the hallway then run to his kennel for a bit of rest. Retirement is hard work after all. His inmate trainer says that she can’t wait to see what Hugo learns and to see his personality emerge!
