Cosmo the Wonder Dog!

It is Cosmo’s last week with us, and his trainer is pleased to imagine just how excited he will be to explore new frontiers with his forever family! He looks strong and healthy and he has consistently shown himself to be an intelligent boy who deserves love out the wazoo.

His trainer took him into the training room recently so that they could go over the commands together, and he was eager to do everything that his trainer asked! He really seems to enjoy any opportunity to earn treats. He undoubtedly knows what all the commands mean, and he even did a “roll over” for his trainer.

One thing his trainer likes most about Cosmo is that he has a steady personality and is always in a good mood, ready to face the world without fear. He is very macho, so if he tries to express he’s the big dog on the yard by barking at female dogs, a firm “no” is sometimes needed. He is, to all, a wonderful model of a well-trained dog ready to graduate with honors and make a great pet!

Cosmo has this way of looking at you that makes you want to hand over the kibble, and his trainer will miss him so much. It has been wonderful to have a dog who is a fast learner, friendly and has been a breeze to train. Cosmo is truly a cosmic wonder dog!

Forever Family. Here I Come!

Swap week is here and you guessed it. Cosmo had no problems during the week. He was great with all his commands, no separation anxiety and he behaved like a perfect gentleman. He adapted quickly to the change.

Cosmo’s alternate trainer for the week said Cosmo is a very attentive greyhound. He rarely had to repeat himself. He’s eager to please his human. He feels Cosmo is ready for graduation next week and to meet his forever family. You are going to love him!

There's no one like Cosmo!

Cosmo has had yet another great week! He knows all of his basic commands and three extras. He is a joy to work with and he brings all the excitement that is possible to bring, wherever he is. Everyone loves being around him because he is just so loving and eager to learn and please. He is very treat-motivated, and has a personality that is truly like no other. He enjoys relaxing with people and lifts your spirit with just one look. He will make an amazing companion for anyone! He has helped his inmate trainer just by being himself; that’s how good he is!

One Stellar Guy

Cosmo’s trainer’s first impression of him was that he is a friendly and easygoing dog – he has a good build and temperament. A bit of a Goldilocks effect, if you will – not too big or too small, not too hyper or too shy. Well, then his trainer discovered what a quick learner he is! He has been doing perfectly during all show and tell sessions, performing all of his commands like a champ.

Cosmo loves getting treats so training him is pretty simple. His trainer tries to use repetition consistently in order to encourage the correct behaviors like waiting when told, walking by his side on a leash, and not barking at other dogs. It has been a joy to see Cosmo get better and better throughout the session. The dogs are often independent when you first meet them, but they learn obedience very quickly. His trainer is confident that before the end of the session, Cosmo will have a few extra tricks up his paw!

Cosmo’s trainer has bonded very well with him and are both happy to see each other when it’s time for a walk or to play or train. He loves talking to Cosmo because he looks curious about whatever he has to say, and he seems to enjoy getting praise for being such a good boy. Anybody would be happy to be friends with Cosmo! It is a blessing to have a dog do so well at learning commands, and he will be truly missed and remembered long after he goes to his forever family.

Personality Overload

Cosmo seems to be enjoying the retirement life! He’s a social butterfly. He loves meeting and greeting people. He gets along great with all of the other greyhounds too. His trainer has not found any aggressive behavior toward anything with Cosmo and he feels this sweet boy will be greyt for any family. Cosmo has a magnetic personality that pulls you in. He’s always so happy and loving. Everyone loves to be around him. People and dogs alike. There are no bad days with Cosmo!

Cosmo knows all of his basic commands very well, so his trainers have added “circle” and “roll over”. Can you guess what commands he will learn next? Tune in next week to see.
