A Quiet Soul

Luke is continuing to thrive and show off more of his playful side. He is a calm, steady, and loving soul who makes everyone’s days better. He loves having his front feet massaged when he’s laying down.

He is doing much better around loud noises, although he still doesn’t make much noise himself. It seems like “Speak” is not going to be one of the tricks in his arsenal. He is amazing at walking on a leash though and will make an amazing walking buddy.

Calm and Steady

Luke has been progressing by leaps and bounds this week. His trainer said they have been doing some serious training and Luke has been more eager to do his commands. He has mastered his basic commands and is still working on some tricks.

Luke is a calm boy with a steady disposition, but has plenty of energy and can run like the wind. He tends to enjoy playing by himself so far. He is quiet, even when the other dogs are barking at the horses or cats. Luke will just stand at attention without making a noise.

He is such a lover and so full of personality, he will just make you smile!

Learning to Share

Luke is a sweet, smart and amazing dog!  This week Luke and his trainer worked on the command “Give.”  He can now gently give and share his toys.  Luke is not a vocal boy, even when the other dogs are barking, he is quiet.  That being said it may take extra time and treats to teach him the “Speak” command. Luke and his trainer are continuing to work on the “Heel” command also.

Luke enjoys exercise time and playing with the ball with his pal Dixie.  He runs so gracefully and fast with her.  Luke’s trainer said that he has brought so much peace and laughter to her. He just wants to be close, no matter what they are doing.  His trainer is very grateful and honored to be a part of this program. Working with dogs like Luke, make it all worthwhile. She enjoys training Luke and seeing his personality shine through.

Loving Luke

Luke is a fantastic dog who loves to run and play. His trainer is working with him on getting better at sharing toys with the other dogs. He is very playful and silly, but also sensitive. His trainer has been recovering from an injury, and Luke has been right by her side the entire time. He is not a fan of loud noises and loud people, but in quieter environments he is playful and silly.

Greyt Ambassador

Luke is really blossoming into an awesome dog!  He has been working so hard training and learning new commands, tricks and mastering them.  Luke is also very attentive and doing his commands without any hesitation.  He does “Wait” easily without being told and is still working on “Heel” and “Stay.”

He is running more and more and seems to really enjoy it.  Luke now plays with toys and enjoys the company of Tomi Lahren (Tomi.)  Luke truly brings a calm steadiness of home according to his trainer and she has definitely fallen in love with this sweet boy!

Super Fast

This has been the most exciting week thus far for Luke’s trainer!  Luke is happy to share that he knows his commands very well and is very willing to show you.  He has become more playful with his toys and now has allowed his trainer to play with him and his toys.

Luke got to run this week and he is super-fast! None of the other greyhounds can catch him. He is listening much better and has become more willing to train and learn new commands.  Luke is such a joy and a very soothing dog.  His trainer said that once their bond and trust was solid, he has become ready and more comfortable to show his personality more and more.  He is truly going to make his new family very happy!

Kiss Me!

Luke’s trainer said he is definitely improving with his training. He knows most of his basic commands and “Sit” is not his favorite. Luke knows it, but it takes him a bit to follow through, so his trainer will continue working with him on that.

Luke’s favorite treat is beef tripe and peanut butter balls, what a combination! He had a chance to run and his trainer said he was really fast and seemed to love it. Luke is a loving and sweet boy. He’s not a fan of loud noises and takes time to get to know you, but when he does, he’s your buddy.

Silly Boy

It has been an exciting week for Luke and his trainer. Luke has accepted his first toy and he loved it! His trainer got to see some of his silliness. Since then he has found a couple of other toys that are fun and exciting.

Training this week has improved as well. Luke knows Sit, Bed, Down, Wait, Release and Hurry. His trainer has noticed that Luke is very much a companion dog, meaning he walks with you, he waits for you and if not leashed, he longs for your love and attention.

Luke also loves his naps. He continues to be very observant and watches his trainer’s every move when he is awake and in his kennel. Luke also knows Go Home, and when told, he goes upstairs to his trainer’s room. Luke is stubborn at times, and sensitive. It seems to be a weird combination according to his trainer but that is just him.

They are learning a lot from each other and he has definitely filled an empty space in his trainer’s heart. Luke has reminded her that what she does matters and that she is needed. His trainer is so grateful for this program and for Luke! She looks forward to seeing Luke grow and his personality come alive.

Those Eyes...

One of the first things Luke’s trainer noticed about him was his eyes.  When Luke’s leash was handed to his trainer, they made immediate eye contact and trust began to build.  Luke has such a calm and sweet temperament.

Luke seems to be adjusting well to his new environment.  The sounds including door clicks, slams and loud radios, he is not a fan of.  Luke has learned his name quickly and learned that his trainer is alpha.  He keeps his eyes on his trainer at all times.  Luke’s trainer said he is nosy and is always listening to his surroundings.  So far, they are getting to know each other.  They have played the name game; which Luke has learned fairly well.

Luke is a tender soul and loves rubbing and affection.  He enjoys being close to his human as much as possible.  He seems to be very smart, and his trainer can’t wait to see him come out of his shell over the course of the session.
