This Hound is on FIRE!

Ava is such a happy, energetic little girl. She performs all of her commands enthusiastically and with excitement. She is eager to do what she knows gets her positive attention or a reward, and responds very well to the level of energy that you put into working with her. She has a green squeaky toy that she goes absolutely haywire for, so be sure to have some squeaky toys on hand if you wanna have some fun with Ava. She is truly a special hound.

Cuddling? You betcha!

Ava is truly a remarkable greyhound. First of all, she's so intelligent - she absorbed her training like a sponge! 14 basic commands and TEN whole extra commands! Ten!

Ava is extremely active and easily excitable. She likes to play and can for as long as playtime continues. She loves squeaky toys (they get her amped up!) and will chase you around for as long as you can run.

By the way, her eyes and ears miss nothing, and I mean nothing. She notices everything like a little detective. Plus, when she is out of her kennel, she likes to sniff everything. She is a very curious girl.

Overall, Ava is a well-rounded, well-trained companion. She is smart, well-behaved, energetic and alert. She is gonna be a real asset and blessing to you because she just loves to be loved on - she'll bow her head and snuggle under your arm, or between your legs, and let you pet her until the cows come home. And even after the cows come home, to be honest! She is the perfect dog - so don't miss your chance to have this sweetheart become the newest member of your family!

America's Next Top Buddy

Ava has had a greyt week. She learns so quickly! She learned a few extra commands: bounce, belly, back and give. She loves to be around people and is so, so loving. She likes to be by herself when she's in her kennel (people are okay, but she wants the other goobers in her class to mind their beeswax for a minute!). Ava has acclimated well to retired life and loves running around in the dorm, getting lovies from everyone there, and she truly brightens everyone's day. She is so awesome and will be missed by everyone who's gotten loved on by her.

Yummy Peanut Butter

Hi Ava here.  I just wanted to check in with my fans and let you know how I'm doing here in the "can".  I think it's going great.  I know all of my basic commands like "hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "release", "wait", "heel", "here", "sit", "down","stay", "bed" and "jump.  I also know some extras.  I can "speak", "circle", "shake", "visit" and do "paws up".  Isn't that awesome, just like me?

I love the company of humans and all the attention they give me.   All I have to do is bat my pretty eyes and I get belly rubs and ear scratches to my heart's content.   I even get yummy treats just for doing my commands. Did I tell you I love peanut butter?  I will do just about anything for it.  Where has this delicious stuff been all my life?

I can handle all this retirement stuff.  I am hoping I'm next on the list for adoption.  If you're looking for a confident, sweet, smart greyhound with a great personality then I'm the one for you.  My name's Firekicker AKA Ava... and I say "pick me."

Training Is Fun!

Ava had another great week.  Any week with Ava is greyt!!! She knows all of her basic commands and three extras, "speak", "paws up" and "circle". She is so smart and loves training/learning. She picks up on any training very fast.

Ava is a very sweet Greyhound and loves being around people. She enjoys playing with toys and just hanging out. She will be a greyt addition for any family looking for a loving girl named Ava.

Paws Up

Sweet Ava is such a smarty pants.  It's unreal.  She knows all 12 of her basic commands:  "Hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "release", "wait", "heel", "here", "down", "stay", "bed", "sit" and "jump".  She's not a fan of going into her kennel, but with a yummy  treat in there , she has no problem going in.

Ava will now "speak" on command.  She is ready to tell you all about her adventures at the prison.  She will also do "paws up".  Her trainer says she is the best dog he has gotten the chance to train.  He is so happy he got the chance to train a loving girl of a Greyhound, Ava.  Two paws up for Ava!

Ava The Greyt

Another great week with Ava!  She knows all of her basic commands, but is a little slow to respond to some of them.  If you have something she wants, she's quick to show you just how smart she is.  Ava will have them down pat in no time,  just you wait and see.

Ava is such a sweet and playful girl who loves training and being around people.  She could be the star of the show for you. Can your place be her new forever home?  Give this girl the second chance she deserves.

Cutie Patootie!

Ava has had an awesome week.  She started taking treats for doing her commands.  She will "down", "sit", "bed", "hurry", "here", let's go" and "jump" for a nice tasty treat.  She is a little slow to respond to some of the commands, but with a little treat motivation, there's no reason she can't learn any command she's taught.  She's a cutie patootie!

Ava loves to go into the training room to train.  She also started playing with toys this week.  She has no toy or food aggression, and Ava doesn't mind the other dogs coming around her kennel any more.  Her trainer thinks she just needed time to adjust to her new temporary home.  She's a beautiful girl with such a good spirit.  Any family would be lucky to adopt this black beauty.

Playful Gal

Ava is doing well this week! She started sitting on command and just started doing "down" and "bed" as well. It took longer for bonding than it does with most dogs here, since she's not treat motivated.

She just started playing with toys and her trainer sees no problems with her at all. She is so sweet and smart. He has not found any aggression with food or toys, but she doesn't like for other dogs to come around her while she is in her kennel. They will be working on that and updates will come soon on her progress in that department.

Ava enjoys her training time and will be a great companion for anyone. Her trainer enjoys taking her out to run and play - she gets so excited, and it is so fun to watch! As for next week, they will be working on sit, down and bed commands to master them and then start on other basic commands.

Soulful Girl

Ava has been doing well for the first three days. She was a little overwhelmed with all the things they do when they first get in. She would not eat the first day, and she was unsure about her trainer and everyone else. Now she is past that and is trusting her trainer. She is sweet and playful and by the third day she was comfortable enough to play and run around like she owns the place. She and her inmate trainer started training on day 4 with introduction to commands. He says that she is such a great dog and he sees no problems with her learning. She enjoys the other dogs' company but likes to be by herself when she's in her kennel. She is not treat motivated at this time, but she does enjoy getting loved on and is sure to make a great and loving companion.
