Counting Down The Days

It's hard to believe time has passed so quickly and graduation is right around the corner! Boulder's inmate trainer says that it's going to be hard saying goodbye to this great boy when the time comes, but he knows that Boulder is moving on to a life filled with happiness and treats!

Boulder's inmate trainer says that working with Boulder has been a real treat!  He's doing great with all of his commands and plays really well with the other dogs.  His trainer says that Boulder is going to make a great addition to some very lucky family!

Treat Motivated

Swap week was this week and Boulder's alternate trainer for the week said it was a fun and interesting week with this guy.  He said he's a very sweet boy that loves affection.  Boulder knows his commands quite well.  He is very treat motivated, so all eyes are on you when it's training time.  Treats and training . . . a good combination.

Boulder loves the beds in the dorm and seems more comfortable out and about, meeting and greeting.  He doesn't want to miss a thing.  He still loves his piggy toy and hopes his forever home has lots of toys to choose from.  He's not picky.  If it squeaks, he's good to go.

Hard Work Pays Off

Guess who passed their pre-test this week?  If you said Boulder you would be correct!  His inmate trainer says that he’s very proud of Boulder’s performance!  He’s worked hard for every yummy treat that he’s received!

His inmate trainer says that he believes that Boulder’s forever family is going to realize that they have one special boy in their life with this guy.  Prepare to lose your heart!  He’s fun to be around and filled with love!

Boulder The Roacher

It's been another successful week with Boulder.  He did his commands during testing on Saturday without kibble (treats)!  His inmate trainer is very proud of him.  Boulder is going to steal the hearts of his forever family members, just as he has his trainer.

Boulder has shown no sign of aggression over toys, and still loves his little piggy toy!  He's a joy to watch when playing.  Boulder also loves to lounge around on the comfy dog beds.  You can tell he's settled right in to the retired life when he's roaching on his bed.  He's ready to settle right into your routine and your forever home.

Just A Little Motivation

Boulder is doing great with his commands!  He is a little slow responding to the “jump” command, but will follow through especially if a bit of tasty motivation is involved!

So, Boulder has fallen in love with a pig… a pink squeaky pig that he tosses around and chews on till his little heart is content.  His inmate trainer says that it’s cute to see Boulder playing and having fun.  He says that Boulder is a great boy who is guaranteed to steal the hearts of his new family.

Retirement Life Is Good

Boulder is a pooch that likes to be pampered!  This week he enjoyed his pedicure (nail trimming) and his spa treatment of lots of petting and ear-rubbing.  He's getting the hang of this thing called "retirement".

He enjoys playing and running on the big yard.  He's improving daily with his basic commands.  Boulder and his inmate trainer worked on the "jump" and "off" commands this week.   He was a little slow to respond to "off", but he did it.  His trainer says he's a smart dog and quick learner, so withmore practice he will have them figured out.  Check back next week for more updates on Boulder.

Camera Ready

Another week has come and gone with Boulder and he is learning at a fast pace.  His inmate trainer worked on "down", "stay" and "leave it".  He is getting the hang of them and the other basic commands also. He is so focused and determined that he sometimes makes the cutest face with his big brown eyes and his tongue hanging out of his mouth!  He's practicing for "tongue-out-tuesday"!  Get your camera ready.

This week Boulder started playing with squeaky toys.  His trainer can take the toy away from him with no problems whatsoever.  Don't let this boy pass you by.  He's definitely a keeper!

Loyal Companion

My handler says I'm a beauty of a greyhound.  How can you resist a handsome black greyhound with mesmerizing eyes?  I'm super friendly and quite a looker.  I'm outgoing and love super comfy beds.  I hope my new forever home has several for me to chose from.  You can never  have too many beds.  Heck, I'm thinking even a couch will do.  They don't call us couch potatoes for nothing.

I am a fast leaner and I am improving daily with my basic commands like: "sit", "down", "stay", "heel", "wait", "kennel", "release", "here", "bed", "jump" and "let's go".  I must be doing something right, since I've been told several times that I'm a very good boy... always nice to hear that!

My trainer says I like to lag behind a little bit when on a leash, but I'm getting better. There's so many new things to explore here at the prison, and I don't want to miss a thing.

So people, if you are looking for a good, loyal dog, then look no further...Boulder is the name and adopting me is the game!

Beautiful Boy Boulder!

Boulder has had a good week of training.  They have been working on "wait", "heel", "hurry", "kennel", "release" and "sit".  He is starting to get the hang of all of them.  He's a smart boy ready to learn whatever you ask of him.

Boulder does great at feeding time.  He "wait's" until he is "released" to his food dish.  His inmate trainer can put his hand in his food bowl and Boulder has no problem with it.  He's such a good boy!

Boulder hasn't shown any interest in any of the toys, squeaky ones or not.  He's not quite sure what they are.  Give him time and he may be the next toy hoarder, you never know.  He definitely likes his outdoor time.  He loves to run on the big yard.  His inmate trainer will soon be working with him with the "here" command.  More updates next week on this beauty of a boy, named Boulder!

I Know My Name

Super Stroke now known as Boulder has been working on learning his name this week.  His inmate trainer said he thinks he's got it!  He has also been working with teaching Boulder to "wait" at the door and "lets go".

Boulder has the shiniest black coat his trainer has ever seen!  He is a sweet boy and his trainer is looking forward to the weeks ahead.  More to come next week...
