Miss Precious

Week 9! Swap week! Swap week gives the trainers the opportunity to evaluate the dogs and see if they have any separation anxiety, and to see if they get nervous; how they handle being away from their primary trainer and being in a totally different kennel. Sophi's swap week trainer thinks it's really good for the dogs to do that because it will help them when they go to their new forever homes. So, on swap day, Sophi went to a trainer who says that she is very smart and full of energy. She is very precious.

She knows most of her commands very well, and is a little slow to respond on wait and give, but with a little more work, she will have it down pat. Sophi enjoys playing with squeaky toys. She can go all day with a squeaky toy. Sophi really enjoys affection and just wants someone to love on. Would you like to be the one to show her some affection? Hey You.  Yeah You.  I heard you are looking for a greyhound that is loving, loves to play, loves people and is super friendly.  Oh and cute as a button.  Well, guess what?  You are looking at her...It's me! Little Miss Sophi!  I could go on and on about how you should adopt me... OK I will.  I'm a fast learner, super sweet and will be the best new family member you could ask for.  When I go outside and you call my name, I will come running to you, and chase you around and play with you.  I'm the compete package when it comes to a forever friend.  I'll give you unconditional love and never judge you.  And I don't talk back.  I am the best.

Sophi...An Awesome Girl Who LOVES People!

Sophi is a smart girl who knows what she can and cannot get away with.   Wait, that should say that she knows WHO she can and cannot get away with things.  She knows all of her commands, but will play you given half a chance.  Watch for the batting of eyes and spoiled rotten look.  If you cave when it hits, just be prepared to work harder to get her back in line.  

Sophi’s inmate trainer says that he’s going to miss her playful happy personality when she graduates.  He says that she plays well out in the yard and happily comes back when he calls for her.  Sophi will keep your spirits up and a smile on your face.  She’s going to make some lucky family very happy. 

Play All Day

Sophi is a very loving dog who loves to play and loves to be around people. She's doing very well with her commands and she is very toy-driven - she will do anything for a toy! She loves to run and play with other dogs, and if the other dog stops playing with her, all you have to do is call her name and say run and she will play with you. She could play all day!

Cuddling + Belly rubs = 1 Happy Greyhound

If you are looking for a very loving and playful pup, look no further... SOPHI's THE ONE FOR YOU!  She loves to play with toys and loves a fun game of chase.  The game of chase is her chasing you around the yard.  This isn't much of a chase for Sophi.  She's on you in a flash, but she still seems to enjoy the chase.  She's also in to belly rubs and cuddling.

Sophi is an awesome leash walker.  She walks right by your side, step by step.  She knows all of her commands verbally and most with hand signals too.  Can you say cute and smart?

Playful Pretty Girl

Sweet little Sophie is coming along nicely.  She sometimes likes to do her own thing, which is usually playing or heading for water. However, her trainer can walk her around without a leash in the dorm and she stays right by him. She's gotten much better with all of her commands and by the end of her stay at Second Chance Academy, she will be good to go. Her trainer is so proud of her. He thought she might be a little tricky to train because she loves to play with toys so intently, but she has turned out to be a real darling. He's really going to miss little Sophie, because she's such a sweetheart!

Belly Rubs Are The Bomb

Little Ms. Sophi is coming along just wonderfully and getting better all the time.  She is doing well with her basic commands.  She is a little picky about which treats she likes.  The meatier the better.  LOL

Sophi is a toy lover!  Squeaky or stuffed.  She doesn't care.  Her trainer is teaching her "sit" before getting a toy.  It's a work in progress, but she's improving every day.  

Sophi's in heaven when it's belly rubbing time.  They are her favorite!  If you stop she will re-position herself so you can keep petting and petting and petting...  You get the idea.

It's a blast on the big yard with Sophi.  She loves to take off and run after the other dogs.  As soon as she is across the yard, her trainer will yell her name , Sophi "here".  She puts it in high gear and runs to him.  Man is she fast!!  She enjoys chasing and playing with her trainer.

Sophi is so much fun.  Some family is in for a real treat!  Dont' pass this girl up.  She has just one Christmas wish....Forever Family.  Could it be yours?

America's Next Top Sweetheart

If you're looking for the sweetest dog ever, you have just found her! Little Miss Sophie is also fearless. She goes nuts for toys and playtime. She is a need-to-be-with-my-family dog. She has not met a single stranger yet. She is spunky and full of energy. Her trainer has a big red ball, and she and her trainer play a kind of soccer where he uses his hands instead of his feet. She loves it. She's getting better at stopping when her trainer says leave it. She is coming along so nicely with her commands. She is learning heel and wait and has gotten much better at bed. This week, she sat for the first time on command without any help. We are so proud of her! Much more to come next week.

Meet Your New Best Friend

Sophie is so cute and sweet and she just loves people. She loves to hang out in the day room, and let me tell you, this girl loves toys. She plays hard! She would wear herself out if you let her, so her trainer tries to keep her at a dull roar. Sophie likes to charge out of her kennel and loves to go places. So her trainer is working on slowing her down. When the door opens, she has to wait for her trainer to call her before she can come out. It's a process, but she's learning and coming along nicely. It doesn't take her long to go down on the bed, maybe 5 minutes or so. The awesome thing is Sophie has only been here for days and she's adjusting and learning very well. She's going to make a precious addition to some lucky family and is so darn sweet. More to come!
