You're Going To Love Nugget

Nugget and his trainer’s last week together has been bitter sweet. She and Nugget have a strong bond and he is her little shadow. Nugget is so smart. He’s now adventurous and courageous. He will venture out of his comfort area and explore. At the beginning of the session, Nugget was very reserved and shy. Today he has completely come out of his shell. He’s great on the leash and very much a foodie. He wants his and yours, but has learned “leave it” very well. Nugget’s trainer is excited for him to go to his forever home and flourish. He is such a sweet boy.

Laid Back Boy

Nugget is such a sweet boy. He listens very well and has a laid back personality. He knows all his commands and will do them for the other trainers. He loves food and treats. He won’t take his eyes off of you if you have food and he thinks there’s a chance a crumb will fall to the ground for him. His trainer is so happy with who far he has come since arriving at the prison.

Not A Morning Pup

This week Nugget showed out and performed his commands for other handlers. He listens so well and did great for the others. He gets along well with all the greyhounds. His best friends are Emmy and Tilly. He gives sweet kisses to the girls. He doesn’t mind them taking his toys either. He loves toys and snacks.

Nugget has such a chill personality. He’s not much of a morning person (dog).. He loves to eat and go right back to sleep. He will sleep for hours. He is a little shy around strangers, but once he gets to know you he’s your best friend.

Forever Family Is Just Around The Corner

This week Nugget worked on verbal and hand signal cues for commands.  He knows all of his commands by hand signal alone and he’s got verbal cues down pat without the addition of hand signals.  This sweet boy loves to chill out in the training room on the big comfy beds.  Tilly and Nugget play together really well.  Nugget is a laid back guy and he doesn’t mind when Tilly steals, huh… errr…, borrows his toys.  His inmate trainer says that she’s having a blast with this sweet boy!

Chill Dog

Nugget is such a cool, chill dog. This week his trainer continued to go over all of his commands. She also had other trainers run through the commands with Nugget to see how he listens to someone different giving commands and she is pleased to say Nugget did great! He knows all his basic commands and some extras.

This week Nugget and his trainer went to a meet and greet in another dorm. He loves meeting new people and getting lots of pets. He was such a gentleman and everyone loved him.

Handsome Hound

Nugget hung out with a few of the other greyhounds in the training room. They were allowed to interact, play, eat treats and play with toys. Tilly ran around being silly, jumping from bed to bed, taking toys away from him. Nugget’s trainer used the word/command “be nice”. Nugget would look up with his puppy dog eyes, like I really have to let her take my toy and not fuss at her. LOL. Nugget was rewarded for being such a good boy.

Nugget knows all his basic commands and extras. He’s very comfortable around others now. He has really came out of his shell and showing his playful side. Nugget loves meal time and squeaky toys. He is easy on the lead. He doesn’t always stay in his “lane”, so his trainer is working on getting him to walk on the left side. All in all Nugget is doing great.

Super Smart Boy

Nugget has had a great week. He’s a super smart dog. He knows all his commands and extras. He’s motivated by treats. He is also motivated by squeaky toys. Nugget loves soccer balls. He is great in his kennel. His whine/bark is more like a weird whistle sound. His trainer said it is actually kind of cute.

Nugget is super easy on the lead and enjoys meeting new humans. His playful personality is really starting to show this week.

Nugget Is ADORABLE

Nugget here to tell you all about how cute and irresistible I am.  I mean, really it’s pretty obvious. I’m a d o r a b l e. I hang out with an inmate trainer each day.  I teach her how to give me treats.  I usually sit or lay down or something and BOOM! Out comes a treat.  I got a pretty sweet deal going if you ask me.   I ran around the baseball field with my pal Blake this week.  It was a ton of fun!  I also got to play with a soccer ball!  I think I might be star material!  I had that thing movin’!  I hear that I’ll be getting a forever home soon.  Pretty excited about that!

Sweet Little Nugget

Sweet little Nugget enjoys watching the other dogs and humans going about their business. His favorite toy is the Kong Floppy Knots Fox.  He carries it around in his mouth wherever he can.  His inmate trainer says that she loves to see him give Mr. Fox a shake, then throw him up in the air.  Nugget has mastered all of his commands showing what a smart cookie he is.  When he’s alone with just his trainers, his personality really comes out.  He’s truly silly and playful.  He’ll run from one side of the room to the other pouncing on the big fluffy beds.  He’s super easy on a leash which makes walks very nice.

Soccer King

Nugget is starting to get used to his new environment. He is shy and reserved right now, but everything has changed and is so new to him. His playful personality comes out in the training room when it’s just him and his trainers. He loves toys with ropes. He will shake his head back and forth with it in his mouth. His trainer said Nugget is very sweet.

This week Nugget has worked on wait, release, here, kennel, hurry, bed, down, sit and his name. Nugget loves his kennel. He only whines a little when his trainer leaves the building. His whine sounds like a whistle. LOL

Nugget enjoyed playtime outside. He loves the soccer ball and will chase the ball and his trainer. Check back next week for the adventures of Nugget.
