Honey. I'm Almost Home!

Milo is all wrapped up and ready to ship to his new forever home.  LOL  He still needs a last bath and nails trimmed and then he should be “doorstep approved.”  His trainer said it has been a blast working with Milo, and he feels he has done his best preparing him for his forever home.  He has included some very important notes in the letter to his adoptive family, so please take a minute to read it.   It should help make his transition a smooth one.

Milo’s trainer said thank you for letting me take care of him during his training and getting him ready for his next step.  Milo is a sweet boy and you will surely love him.

Well-Trained Boy

Time to trade dogs for Swap Week!  The inmate trainers may have different styles of training, which can be very helpful in troubleshooting any training issues, or helping the dogs understand commands from new people.  The trainers also check to see how the dogs do away from their primary trainers.

Milo’s alternate inmate trainer says that Milo is very well trained and does his commands without any problems.  He’s very good at leash walking and stays with you at your pace.  No problems with his feeding routine and he makes good eye contact.  The eye contact shows that the greyhound is paying attention to his/her handler.

Now, Milo can be a little strong headed, but falls into place with a little correction.  His alternate inmate trainer says that it didn’t take much to make it fun and interesting which got Milo onboard.

Two More Weeks To Go...

Milo continues to be a laid-back easy-going guy.  His inmate trainer says that Milo still hasn’t shown any serious interest in toys, but he loves to run.  He’s becoming a bit more social.  He’s not crazy about nail trims and bath time.  He really thinks it’s a waste of time.

Next week is swap week so Milo will spend some time with an alternate inmate training team. They will see how he does away from his primary trainer and see if there are any commands that need a little extra work.  Check back next week to see how it went.

Taking Retirement To The Max

Milo’s inmate trainer writes in to report that Milo has been in a chill mood lately.  They’ve been working on getting him to play with toys, but he’s not really interested.  He has been enjoying 30 minute walks with his trainer, but he prefers a shaded area and a temp of about 65 to maybe 70 degrees.  Clearly he takes retirement very seriously.

Now, he likes to run/play during yard time, but that’s short lived and he doesn’t really get overly excited about things.

"Master Of The Basics"

Milo is officially a “master of basics”. He’s been introduced and responds well to all of his basic commands. His trainers hope to teach him a few tricks before graduation. They will see if Milo is up to it. LOL

Milo still hasn’t shown much interest in toys. He would rather run and play with the other hounds. He loves to run, with or without a playmate. Milo’s trainer said he is a great companion and has been a blast to work with these past six weeks.

Way Too Cool

Milo has proven to be very proficient at performing his basic commands. He received high scores at show and tail and is also doing great taking commands from other trainers.

Milo hasn’t shown much enthusiasm with toys, but he’s not opposed to a little playful romping around and a game of chase with another greyhound or trainer. Milo is still a huge loverboy, but is a little shy around new people. Offer him a treat and a gentle greeting when meeting for the first time and he’ll be one happy boy. Milo is Super smart. Very Sweet. Way too cool. He’s going to be a great addition to someone’s home.

TV Watcher

Milo has been introduced to all but one of his basic commands. He is capable of learning new things in very little time and very little effort. He’s one smart cookie. Millie is also quite the “lover boy”. He enjoys being petted and rubbed on.

Milo will hang out with his trainer and genuinely watch tv with him. His ears perk up when he sees an animal on the screen.

Milo wasn’t too enthusiastic about toys. He will pick one up, but that’s about it. He would rather chase after another dog that’s playing with one. He loves running on the big yard; taking laps all by himself without a care in the world. Milo has proven to be a wonderful dog and anyone would be lucky to have him.

Wonderful Learner

Milo is proving to be a wonderful learner and a fairly social guy.  He seems to catch on very quickly and loves attention.  He ran for the first time this week and he seemed very happy to feel the wind in his fur.

His inmate trainer says that the plan is to start introducing toys in the coming days to see what Milo thinks of them.  A few more basic commands are on the agenda for next week. The key is to keep it fun for Milo!

Undeniably Cute!

Milo has had a great week!  He has picked up on many of his commands!  He waits at his kennel door when you open it and will release into a heel like a champ!  He has great leash walking skills.  He stops when his inmate trainer stops and stays right by his side while walking around.  He’s also learned bed and will stay on the bed until released.  Milo is one smart cookie!

Milo’s inmate trainer says that Milo is a sweet and loving boy.  He’s friendly and easy to love. He has great eye contact and is undeniably cute! His inmate trainer says that he believes that Milo is going to make a great addition to some lucky family.

Super Sweet Boy

Milo has arrived for training!  His inmate trainer says that Milo is very friendly and super sweet! Milo waits patiently by his trainers side and leash walks really well!  He did great with his bath, ear cleaning and tick check.  So far, he’s been calm and easy going.

He’s bonding well with his inmate trainer and he says that he’s looking forward to working with this amazing boy!
