Easy To Love

Sparky is a truly sweet girl!  She and her inmate trainer continue to work on her confidence in loud areas of the dorm.  She’s showing some improvement, but would still rather be in her safe place, i.e kennel. She’s doing great with her commands and knows many with both verbal and hand signal cues.  She doesn’t mind having her teeth brushed or getting her nails done.  Her love for attention makes brushing and ear cleaning go smoothly.  She’s a smart girl who is adorable and easy to love.

Tug-Of-War

Sparky is very sweet and loving and doing very well with her commands. She is very distracted by loud noises and will head to her safe space, he kennel. She loves to be petted and is content to stand there for as long as you are willing.

Sparky does like to hoard toys in her kennel and she loves to play tug-of-war. As I mentioned earlier Sparky is not a fan of loud noises at the prison. Give her time and patience and you will see the beautiful, loving dog her trainer cares about deeply. Sparky’s family is very lucky to get such a wonderful girl.

Don't Stop The Love (petting)

Sparky is sweet as ever! She loves to be petted. She will stand there as long as you keep petting her. She does like to hoard toys in her kennel just like her sister Skyler, but Sparky will play with them, where Skyler just hoards them.

Sparky is content to lay on a bed and be around her people. She does not make a fuss or whine. She patiently waits on her primary and will follow her anywhere. Her trainer feels if given the opportunity, Sparky will make the best lap dog!

Little Tag-Along

Sparky is a sweet loving pup! She absolutely loves her primary and will follow her everywhere. She is a loyal little companion. She is still fearful of loud noises. Her trainer does feel she will do much better when she goes to her forever home. Prison is a loud place. Patience and persistence is the key with Sparky.

Sparky knows hurry, let’s go, kennel, release, wait, here, down and stay of her basic commands. She also knows leave it, drop it, eat and water for extras. Sparky doesn't mind getting her nails trimmed and ears cleaned. She loves her kennel and enjoys sleeping the day away in there.

Toy Hoarder

What a sweet girl Sparky is! She loves the company of her person and will follow her wherever she goes. Her trainer pictures her at her forever home, outside with her person planting flowers. Sparky will wander, but never far. She is always right there. She loves affection and soaks it up when told “good girl”. Sparky does not like loud noises like her sister Skyler, but she is more curious about other people. Her kennel is her safe place. She also likes to hoard toys there, just like her sister.

Training is going well and her trainer is looking forward to teaching Sparky new things.

Sweetie

Sweet little Sparky is continuing to emerge from her shell!  She’s learning to trust more and more every day.  She’s observant of everything and dislikes loud noises.  She loves the doggie beds and will now lay down on one without being told to.  She seems to be understanding “release” and knows “down.”  She’s coming around to “here”.  She feels safe in her crate and will return there is something startles her.

There’s a toy box at the end of the hall and Sparky and Skyler will take turn getting one toy each and taking them to their crates.  She get playful when outside with the other dogs.  Her inmate trainer says that it’s incredibly cute to see.

Bonding Time

The first week of the prison training program!  Sparky’s inmate trainer says that Sparky is a little unsure of loud noises, which is not uncommon during the first days of the program.  It’s a big change of environment for them.  Over the week she has slowly been coming out of her shell.  She’s taking treats out of her trainers’ hand and they’re spending time bonding.  When she’s in her kennel having the leash and saying “let’s go” brings her right out.  When she and her inmate trainer are out in the training room alone, Sparky enjoys taking her time investigating her surroundings.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s looking forward to seeing what the days to come bring with this sweet girl!
