Keeps You Smiling

Delta’s trainer is going to miss her a great deal, but is so excited for her to go to her permanent home with her new family.  The trainer said she deserves this second chance.  Delta will make this family happy because she minds perfectly and is well behaved.  She is not too hyper nor is she boring.  She definitely keeps a smile on her trainer’s face.

Delta’s trainer really enjoyed working with her even if it was just a short period of time.  The trainer learned a lot from Delta and they both have learned from each other. That’s what this program is all about.

Delta doesn’t bark at strangers such as staff members anymore but is still not a fan of tall people.  Her trainer had been working on this and polishing up on the “stay” command hoping she will have it down to perfection since that command can save her life if needed.  Delta is very food motivated and that is all it takes for her to show off.  Delta’s trainer is very thankful for the time she has spent with her and knows she will make every member of her new family happy too!

Polite Girl

Delta is such a polite little girl.  Her trainer said the last couple of weeks with her has been a great learning experience for them both.  Getting to know her personality along with her likes and dislikes has caused her trainer to become more attached as the days go by.

Delta’s trainer enjoys caring for her every day, even thinking it was cute when she wanted to play at 5:00 in the morning instead of 6:00 after the time change.  She is an early riser and ready to play after breakfast but is ready for bed by 7:00 or 8:00 in the evening and snores away.

Delta is smart, friendly and very polite.  She listens and knows her basic commands and has also learned, Show Me Love and Shake!  She is an awesome dog and her new family will love her.

Delta's Going To Steal Your Heart

Delta’s week went well. This friendly girl knows all her basic commands, so her trainer is working on her response times. She knows a few extra commands: Show me love, spin and shake. She can do her commands with verbal cuts and most with hand signals too. She catches on quickly. What a smart girl.

It won’t be long and she will be heading to her forever home. Delta is a friendly outgoing girl that is sure to steal your heart!

Stairs Champ

Delta had a trainer switch this week, so she has had to get used to a few changes, but she’s taken it like a champ.  Her new room is upstairs, so she is now even better at going up and down stairs.

Delta is a very calm and quiet dog, although she can become vocal when new people or dogs enter the room.  She rarely plays with toys, but she absolutely loves to run and is also very treat motivated.

Flying High

Delta is such a laid-back and loving dog. She is progressing past her shyness more every day, laying on the big beds with other dogs and approaching people on her own. She has also begun to play with stuffed animals and loves it when they squeak. After playing Delta quiets down very quickly.

Delta knows all of her commands, so now her trainer is working with her on responding to them right away instead of taking her time.

Sweet Study Buddy

Delta has had a pretty good week! She loves playing with her toys for about two minutes, and then moves on to other play or a nap. She is not a vocal dog, but she loves to run and play with the other dogs. Her trainer thinks she is one of the fastest dogs here.

Delta isn’t very treat motivated when it comes to training, but she does enjoy being given crunchy treats. She is just a big baby that loves to lay on her bed with her pillow and blanket. Her trainer says she is great to share a room with, and is a great work buddy when she’s working on her classes.

A Great Week

Delta and her trainer have had a great week working together. She doesn’t love the training room, but will do her commands in other rooms of the building. She isn’t incredibly treat motivated so she is picking up the commands a little slower, but once she gets them she knows them well. She’s a smart girl. Delta has finally overcome her fear of the foodbowl and loves to eat her dinner with a little water for “gravy”.

Delta's Teddy Bear

Delta is very attentive during training and is definitely treat motivated. It has been so rewarding for her trainer to watch her confidence increase and see her coming out of her shell. She loves all the attention she can get from her trainer, and is all about being petted, scratched, and talked to.

Delta has found a toy that she loves - a little brown teddy bear that she carries around and sleeps with. She is not very vocal, but will growl playfully when she is encouraging other dogs to play with her.

Best Friends

Delta loves to cuddle with her best friend Duckie and to lay down in front of the fans so it blows directly on her. Delta’s trainer is feeding her by hand the first week. This gives her trainer a chance to bond. Her trainer has enjoyed these two weeks with Delta so much and has already learned so much from her.

At the beginning of the week she was still a little shy and scared, but by the end she was really out of her shell and exploring more. Training has been coming along great as Delta’s become more confident. It’s exciting seeing these pups blossom more each week.
