Pretty Pixie

This past week Pixie had her final testing and as expected she passed with little difficulty.  Her trainers are looking forward to their final two weeks with her, being able to enjoy her sweet and affectionate personality.

According to her trainers, Pixie is one of the best dogs he has worked with.  She is smart, eager to please, gentle, yet playful and has a sweet heart.

Her forever family will be blessed, although her trainers will miss their, “Pretty Pixie.”  They know Pixie will quickly be a cherished member of her new family.

Best Wishes from Pixie’s Trainers!

Magic Pixie Dream Girl

Hey everyone, it is swap week and this week one lucky duck trainer had Pixie. She is a very playful and exciting dog to be around. She had a lot of fun playing with toys and running out in the big yard, and in her spare time got to hang out with her swap week trainer in the day room and watch TV. She really enjoys being around people and seeing them come by and especially getting petted by them! She did a good job going through all of her commands and with her leash walking. Overall, she is a great, loving, friendly and playful dog, and her swap week team loved spending time with her.

All Around Great Hound

At this week’s show and tell, Pixie seemed very sure of herself and did well on all of her commands. She continues to show how smart and eager to please she is by learning extra “fun” commands.

She’s also continuing to play with toys to get some of her energy out, although she did have a session where she wasn’t as happy as usual - probably because her favorite toys weren’t there!

Most importantly, Pixie continues to be a loving and affectionate little lady, always happy to be out of her kennel and with her pack. As his time with her winds down, he enjoys and savors every moment with her. Be encouraged that after she leaves here, she’ll go straight to being a cherished member of her forever family!

Big Brown-Eyed Girl

This week Pixie ironed out the last few wrinkles of her basic commands, doing them more consistently, along with two extra commands. So now she will shake and give you a high five for it! She has been playing with toys and improving her toy etiquette, and is doing a lot better with give. Her favorite toys are still the ones that squeak.

She's also continued showing her wonderful personality, giving love and affection to all the guys around her kennel whenever she gets out. The more time her trainer spends with her, the more she shows how smart and sweet she is. She's a wonderful dog who has all the qualities of becoming a great family pet. Besides, her trainer doesn't think anyone could ignore Miss Pretty Pixie when she looks at you with her big brown eyes - at least he can't!

Sweet, Affectionate Girl

Pixie had a busy week. She got a new trainer and in just 6 days of getting to know her and work with her, he said she has already shown him how smart and quick to learn she is. Best of all is her sweet and affectionate personality. She’s always happy to get out of her kennel and be with people. Since she just turned two years old, she has some “puppy energy", so her trainers let her play with toys several times a day. While she hasn’t shown any interest in balls, she LOVES squeaky toys. She’s also very good at the “give” command when asked to give up a toy.

Pixie knows all but 2 of her basic commands well. “Wait” and “sit” need work. She will do them, but breaks early, so her trainers are working on consistency and hold time. She’s getting there.

If you choose to be Pixie’s forever family, you’ll be blessed with an affectionate, smart, playful girl, who will quickly win a special place in your hearts.

Stair Master!

Pixie has been amazing this week at performing her commands! She also got to do them with someone other than her main team. She really amazed her primary trainer because he was worried that she would not respond to a different person. But she did great!

She also worked on stair training this week. At first, she climbed with difficulty, but after a few times going up and down, she began to do it without any problem. She's really smart, so that makes it a lot easier!

Life Is Better With Pixie

This week Pixie discovered the love of toys! At first she wasn’t too sure about them, but now she’s a big fan of the squeaky ones. Pixie’s trainer is working with her on the “give” command, so she will give you the toy when asked. She’s a smart girl, so she’s picking it up pretty fast.

Pixie was introduced to the “jump” command. She doesn’t jump yet, but will climb up onto the platform they use. She will step down when given the “off” command and they will continue to work with her on “jump”. She’ll get the hang of it.

Pixie has opened up a lot since arriving at Jenkins. She is sure to steal your heart in no time.

Cutie Pie

Pixie got her nails done this week and she did great.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s doing really well with all of her commands.  This week when he gave her the “here” command she got up and did a 360 spin then came to him and looked at him like, Okay where’s my treat.  He said it quite funny.

Her inmate trainer says that Pixie has the cutest personality and she’s cute so she uses that to her advantage as well.  He plans to work on fine tuning her command skills and can’t wait to see what she learns next!

Miss Precious

Hello everyone! This week has been very eventful. Pixie’s trainer has a lot to say about her, and all of it is good - she's a very smart, affectionate dog. He has started to teach her the basic commands and began by teaching her how to heel, and she learned more quickly than he expected. Then they moved on to teaching her ‘here.’ Pixie gets so excited when he calls her to him using the “here” command, and comes directly to him no matter what else is going on around her! So far, training this hound has been a delight for her trainer.

I'm Pixie! Nice To Meetcha

Pixie’s trainer is so happy to be assigned such a loving girl! After arriving, it was bath time. Some dogs aren’t a fan of getting wet, but Pixie enjoyed it. She didn’t even mind getting her ears cleaned. Her trainer is working on a few commands this week: “Let’s go”, “wait”, “release” and “kennel”. She is a smart dog and a fast learner. Her trainer said he is lucky to have her to train and can’t wait for what lies ahead with Miss Pixie!
