Squeak Toys for Days

Zoey has taken her final week in class easy breezy. She still does two training sessions per day - one with her primary and one with her secondary. Zoey is one of the best dogs he's ever trained! She is so smart and sweet. Even though she can be bull-headed sometimes, all you have to do is set boundaries and keep them even when she doesn't feel like listening. Rebellious teen much?

She isn't stubborn very often, and once she gets used to you, you'll form an amazing bond. She take a while to warm up to sharing her toys with other dogs and once she learns that a new dog is a friend and not some toy thief, she has a ton of fun!

Zoey loves to eat and is a very fast eater, which sounds bad when she tries to inhale her food - but don't worry, she won't hurt herself. It just sounds super goofy and is one of many classic greyhound antics. Having a Nyla Bone in her food bowl while she eats helps her slow down a little bit.

Zoey is such an amazing dog who loves squeaky toys and balls, so have that play pen ready - here comes Zoey!

Playful Little Gal

Zoey is such a smaller and well-mannered greyhound. She gets along well with people and loves attention. She is a very healthy dog and has a big appetite. She loves to run and race the other dogs in her class when they're all in the yard, but she also loves the classic greyhound activity of just lazing around. She has been so wonderful to work with and to get to know. Zoey is going to make such a great addition to her new family!

Wonderful Hound

Hello Zoey followers!  This week was swap week and her trainer for the week had a lot of fun with her.  He said she is great doing her commands and is very obedient.  Zoey wasn't too sure about this new trainer when it was playtime.  She sat back for awhile and just observed.  The next time she was comfortable and really cut loose!  She loves kongs and rubber balls that bounce.

There was not a dull moment during swap week with the fabulous Zoey!  Whoever adopts this wonderful hound will have a blast!!

Gimme Some Lovin'

Zoey has learned all of her basic commands and is doing great with the extras too. Zoey knows "hug", "crawl", "visit", "easy", "water" and "peek-a-boo".  She has been working with new people in the dorm and has shown she is also a good teacher.

Zoey loves the outdoors and gets excited when she gets to run on the big yard and play with her greyhound buddies.  She has also turned into quite the bird watcher, and yes she is fast enough to catch one.

Zoey is such a sweet loving, calm dog.  She says "Gimme Some Lovin" - Are you ready?

The Joy of Toys

This week Zoey started to play with toys! She has become very comfortable around other people and has started taking commands from new people. Her training has progressed so well and now she's in the coveted territory of learning those extras. She's learning so quickly!

Zoey is a learner and a leader by nature and plays well with others. She just loves her classmates and might even start a family band with 'em! Tune in next week to see what this sweet girl is up to.

Forever Friends

Team Zoey is enjoying their time with this sweet, love bug of a greyhound.  She is taking commands from other trainers very well.  She knows all of her basic commands well.  She is a little slow with "jump", but has improved.  No worries.  There's still plenty of time to work on it.

Zoey's trainers have introduced her to a few extras, such as "peek-a-boo", "hug" and "visit".  These are great commands for meet and greets, pet therapy or to just show her off to family and friends.  She is awesome.

Zoey has started to show a little bit of excitement while being in the dorm.  She doesn't play with toys much, but drag a bed across the floor she will chase it until she catches it.   It's quite comical to watch.

You have made an excellent choice to adopt Zoey and give her the forever home she deserves.  She's your next best friend for life!

Zoey the Explorer

This week Zoey has been working on sit and heel. She has shown so much improvement with all of her commands! She's also getting used to the dorm and meeting new people. Whenever she has a good training session (every day, of course), her trainer lets her explore the dorm and visit people on her own while he watches. She really loves to explore!

Zoey is also working with other members of the training team and is doing great. She is a little headstrong, but in a cute, sweet way. Zoey is a real love bug and a huge goof. Her trainer says he's really looking forward to the remainder of his time with her - she's one special girl.

Smart Girl

This week Zoey has shown great improvement with "sit", "stay" and "leave it".  She is doing well with "hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "here", "down", "bed", "leave it" and "easy".  Zoey is a smart girl and catches on to new things easily.

Zoey is still getting acclimated to prison life and all the people.  When she explores the dorm she stays close to her trainer's side, but when another greyhound is running around, she lights up and gets playful.  She loves her greyhound buddies.

Zoey's trainer is looking forward to getting to know this sweet girl better.  Check back next week to see what all she has been up to.

Crazy Over Treats

This is the second week of Zoey's training and she is doing amazing.  She has shown that she is very smart and is both treat and affection motivated, which makes training easy.  Now, her trainer can't say that she doesn't go a little crazy for the really good treats!  The smellier the better.

Zoey has been introduced to all of her basic commands and is doing well with most of them.  Her "sit", "stay" and "jump" need more work, but hey, it's only week two!  She's got plenty of time to master them too.

Zoey likes to explore around the dorm, so when she does well after a training session, this is her reward.  She gets to go visit with everyone in the dorm.  She loves the attention   Zoey is a beautiful light brindle girl that is outgoing, easy to calm, smart and a great leash walker.  What more could you ask for in a Greyhound?
