"Shake"

Roland is doing great this week. His personality is starting to show more and more. He is especially social outside. He hangs out in the common area on a dog bed, but is still leery of strangers. Roland will lay there , but is always on guard. Keeping an eye on everything that is going on around him.

He knows all of his basic commands, but needs to improve on heel. He is doing good with his extra command, “shake”. All of the trainers are very proud of Roland.

Loves The Outdoors

Roland is doing great! During potty breaks he likes to greet all the dogs and handlers. The other dogs love to nuzzle him and Roland now demands attention from the handlers. He enjoys the outdoors and this is where you see hime come out of his shell.

Roland is still shy inside the dorm, but it’s noisier and has a lot more distractions going on in there than outside. He is doing so much better than when he first arrived. It has taken him a lot longer to open up as it’s week 7 now. Roland learned an extra command this week! (Shake). Yay Roland! He’s such a sweet boy and his new family is going to love him. He just needs extra time and tic to come out of his shell and see the real Roland.

Worth The Wait

Roland is starting to come out of his shell more and more each day. His trainer was even able to get hime to allow two officers to pet him. This is a big step for Roland. His trainer and all the others are so proud of him.

Roland will sit on a dog pillow in the open commands area now and will even fall asleep. This is great progress for this sweet boy. His training is also coming around. He knows most of his basic commands. He is slow to respond to leave it and heel, but he knows the others well. His trainer is happy to see Roland blossom and get more comfortable with his surroundings. It has taken him longer than the other dogs, but Roland’s worth the wait.

Fun Times With Roland

Roland is doing great! He’s starting to be social outside in the yard.  While out for potty breaks he manages to wrangle attention out of all the humans.  During training he corrects really well.  He’s grasping his commands really well.  His inmate trainer says that Roland’s personality is starting to really come out.  He’s proving to be a very sweet and playful boy.  She said she looks forward to every day with this sweet guy!

Cute As A Button

Roland is starting to open up a little more each day. He is getting used to his new environment enough to venture out of his kennel on his own to explore. He is still unsure of new people he hasn’t met, but will go up to them and sniff them when he thinks they aren’t looking. He has come a long way since his first day and his trainer is super proud of him.

Roland is catching on to the commands and his trainer feels he will continue to get better and better as the weeks progress. Roland is a sweet shy boy that LOVES his pillows to lounge on.

Making Progress

Roland is working to adjust to this loud place with shiny floors.  His inmate trainer says that Roland is still trying to figure out how to walk on the slippery, shiny floors.  He’s making progress!  Now when he sees the leash he stands up in his kennel and willingly walks to the front door.  He seems to understand the hurry command and does his potty business promptly.  He’s doing well with leash walking and continues to improve daily.  He likes to spend time in his kennel.  He’s doing really well going up and down stairs.

He loves his pillows and is a very sweet boy.  His inmate trainer says she can’t wait to see more of his personality emerge.

Handsome Boy!

Roland’s inmate trainer says that he’s one beautiful boy!  He’s a little unsure of this new loud environment.  So far he’s approaching things with cautious curiosity.  Right now he prefers to be in his kennel, but his inmate trainer says that she thinks that will change as he becomes more comfortable.  So far, he seems to have a peaceful personality.  She says that he’s shown a love for treats!  Not so much for marshmallows, but everything else seems like fair game.

They’re working on hand feeding and bonding as they ease into leash training. His inmate trainer says that she’s looking forward to seeing Roland come out of his shell and embrace training!
