Not only that, but he is top notch when it comes to his commands. He has been a star pupil this whole session. Sneak this big playful boy a treat and he will be your best friend forever. His swap week trainers have very much enjoyed working with Stewart over the past week and are sad to see him go. But this means Stewart is one step closer to meeting you. His forever family. Good luck Buddy!!

Loyal Friend

Stewart has remained a stalwart companion these past weeks. He has exceeded his trainer’s expectations in every category by which a dog could be measured. Stewart is a friend and loyal companion. He continually shows how clever he is by figuring out his daily routine. These pups love routine and Stewart is no exception.

Stewart knows his commands exceptionally well. He’s smart AND handsome! His trainer knows Stewart has a bright future ahead of him. It’s only a few short weeks until you get to meet your new addition. I know you will love him!

TV Time

Stewart loves people and food.  His inmate trainer says that Stewart is eager to please and works hard learning his commands. He likes to lay around in his bed relaxing and enjoying retirement.  He’s still amazed at the TV and watches it with interest at times.

His inmate trainer says that his time with Stewart has really lifted his spirits and he’s thankful for the opportunity.

Stewart For President!

When Stewart’s trainer first saw him, he thought Stewart seemed like a carefree dog with a happy smile for everyone. Soon he discovered that Stewart is a supergenious among greyhounds! Some dogs learn faster than others and Stewart tops the charts.

Rod, like Rod Stewart, is sure to impress his lady friends with his excellent physique, fine coat and personable disposition to go with his good looks. His trainer loves him and knows that whoever adopts him, will be blessed with the best pup ever. If SCG at Jenkins had a class president, he’s sure it would be Stewart.

Stewart the Spinner

Stewart has had an exceptional week! He is the smartest dog his trainer has ever worked with. He picks up on things so quickly and it’s just amazing. He knows let’s go, release, here, sit and bed. He can do all his basic commands already, just not always on the first try. He gets so excited, so his trainer walks him and allows him time to calm down, and then he will do them all without delay. By the time he leaves, he will have no problem knowing them all.

Each week on Thursday the hounds have show and tell. This is where they all get up in front of everyone and are graded on how well the dogs do their commands. The first time Stewart did show and tell, he got all 10s and one 9 (which was for “heel”). The last show and tell he did, he got all 10s and one 9 on “jump.” And they just started on jump two days before the test, so a 9 is pretty darn good! Now Stewart has no problems with jump.

Stewart’s trainer has found no aggressive behavior towards anything whatsoever. He will make a great companion for any home; he loves people and lying around on his bed with his Kong full of peanut butter. He is still amazed by the TV and enjoys watching it. When he gets excited, he will spin around in a circle and it is so funny to watch!

Life Of Luxury

Stewart had a great week. He knows quite a few of his commands already. He’s slow to respond on others, but his trainer said he’s a smart boy and is sure he will have no problems learning them all by graduation. Stewart enjoys a little down time, lounging on his bed with a peanut butter filled Kong. Talk about a life of luxury!

Stewart started playing with toys this week. He’s not sure how or what they are for yet, but loves to take them and hoard them in his bed. Silly boy, Stewart.

Time for love!

Stewart has had an awesome week. He is so smart and he already knows bed, sit, wait heal, and stay. The others are a work in progress, but it’s still early in the training process. He gets so excited when he first comes out of his kennel! Time to learn and be loved on.

He's been working on his leash manners this week and has greatly improved since arriving at Second Chance Greyhounds Academy. He loves everyone and every dog and wants to play with all of them. He enjoys lying on his bed while you rub him under his mouth at the top of his neck. His trainer has not found any aggressive behavior towards anything at all. He is just such a sweet boy and everyone loves him. He gets excited but will calm down easily, and he has a great personality.
