Great Listener, Better Companion

Tucker’s trainer enjoyed the last week with him. Tucker is such an amazing dog! He is a great listener and will make an even better companion. His beg is more of a sit and look cute…when he wants a snack, but when he doesn’t get it he just puts his head down and goes to sleep.

Tucker has been very playful this week. He loves playing in the rain and running in the field. He does get hot easily so sometimes they would go inside immediately, when noticed. He really is a young pup at heart and an old dog at nap time. It is adorable.

Get your pooper-scooper ready because if outside long enough he can go twice. Tucker is going to be missed so much by his trainers. They tested him on all of his commands one last time and he did great!

Loves the Rain

During Swap Week Tucker did very well. Everyone agreed that he is a very calm and laid back dog. He enjoys playing with the other dogs and is a social butterfly. He did very well with taking his commands from other trainers during the week.

He knows all of his commands, but the biggest surprise was, Tucker loves playing in the rain! His future family will appreciate this, when it comes time to potty during a rain shower. Tucker doesn’t mind it a bit.

Tucker’s new family will definitely enjoy and love him.

Cute And Adorable

Tucker is still being cute and adorable but he simply can’t help it! He doesn’t eat all of his food in the morning but it is probably because he has his mind on running and prancing around in the fields. He has so much fun playing and keeping up with the other greyhounds.

Tucker minds really well and “will work for food.” He enjoys fetch and is not aggressive while playing with other dogs. He is not aggressive when other dogs take toys from him either. He just seems to let it go and looks for another toy to play with.

Tucker listens very well, it is almost like he knows exactly what you are saying. This smart boy knows all of his basic commands and quite a few extra ones as well. He can now “Bow,” “Kiss,” “Show Love” and that is not all.

He is going to make an amazing pet for his new family.

Am I Adopted?

Tucker here to tell you my week has been good here at Pulaski. I hear I am going to be released soon. I’m excited and sad at the same time. I am really going to miss my trainers and all their attention, but am excited for what the future holds.

I’m learning a lot here. I know my basic commands, but need a little work on release. I’m sure I’ll have it mastered before graduation, which is only a short time away. I can’t wait. Here’s a few things about me that you may not know. I’m an adorable boy and will do just about anything for a treat. In fact, show me a treat and I may show you every command and trick I know. LOL I enjoy nice long naps on big comfy beds and belly rubs. I’m not a fan of ear rubs or foot massages. Those 2 areas I’m kind of sensitive about.

That’s about it for this week. I’ll see you soon!

Tucker Loves His Treats

Tucker is very elated when running. He loves just prancing around and running with the other dogs. He doesn’t really enjoy playing with balls, he is more of a stuffed toy dog. .

Tucker can be a little bit of a counter surfer. Any dog can be. If you leave food within his reach, he will wait until you are preoccupied and then, grab it. Keep a keen eye on him and give him the “leave it” command. Tucker is a really good dog, once you tell him to “Leave It”, he listens.

He is such a cutie. Tucker knows his basic commands plus some extras as well. He knows “Kiss,” “Show Me Love,” “Bow” and a couple more too. Tucker listens very well. He is playful and calms easily. He is going to be missed but will make his new family very happy.

Sits Like a Show Dog

Tucker is the sweetest thing. He and his trainer are working on the extra commands now. Tucker is so eager to please. He does his commands without treats now, but is more willing with treats of course.

Tucker is quite the social butterfly. He will stand and let someone pet him all day until they have to stop. He loves to play and be out and about. He will follow you around and explore with you too. He is going to make an amazing companion for someone. Could it be you?

Tucker gets so excited while he is running in the field. His personality is so outgoing. Tucker minds and listens to what his trainer asks of him. He is also very gentle and his trainer thinks he would be great around children, as long as they were not too rough, because Tucker is a sensitive boy.

He is learning how to use and play with a Kong. Tucker is very sociable and is adjusting fine in his environment. He hasn’t found his bark yet but his trainer is trying to help him with “Speak,” and we have learned that he “Sits” like a show dog!

Just Chillin'

Tucker is the sweetest thing. He started walking up to people he knows and even strangers for some loving. He will stand there as long as you keep petting him.

Tucker has all his basic commands pretty much mastered. He needs to work on fine tuning them and work on distance and duration. He is learning spin and bow this week to add to his list of extras. Tucker’s a smart and sweet boy.

Stuffed toys and ones that don’t make noise are Tucker’s favorite ones to play with. He’s still not sure of the ones that squeak.

When He Runs He Hops

Tucker has really become comfortable this week and is opening up very well. He started running in the field and it is so cute because he kind of… hops.

Tucker is getting a lot better at his commands. He knows “Sit” and “Down” the best. Now he and his trainer are working on perfecting the other commands and extra ones. He can get distracted at times. It just takes the right treat to get him back on track.

Tucker loves toys, especially the furry ones and chew toys. His trainer is looking forward to working with him in the coming weeks and thinks he is a very smart boy.

Learning the Ropes

Tucker has really opened up this week and has started playing with toys. So far squeaky toys are his favorite. He shows no signs of toy aggression, and is happy to drop a toy when his trainer tells him “give”. He is also really sweet and gentle with the other dogs. Even when they are crowding him during play time or stepping around him while he’s napping, he just gives them the gentlest reminders to watch his space.

He loves to run around when he gets excited and Tucker loves to nap. So far with his training he knows “sit” and “down” very well. He knows the words “bed” and “kennel”, but is still working on responding to them right away. Great progress for only his second week!

Calm Sweet Boy

Tucker’s first day went well.  He and his trainer are getting acquainted and learning everything about each other.  Tucker is very curious but is a little wary of loud noises right now.  He doesn’t mind going up to people that he doesn’t know.  By the end of the week he recognized and was following his trainer around.

Tucker is very smart, he already knows “Let’s Go”, “Kennel” and the “Hurry” command very well.  His trainer had not planned on training so soon but Tucker is very responsive to treats and eager to please, so the timing seemed right to give it a try.  He already knows “Sit” and “Down” relatively well too.  He still gets the “Bow” command confused so they may hold off of that command for a while longer.

Tucker isn’t high energy but he will run around and play once outside.  He has not figured out that toys are to play with yet, but that should come soon.  Tucker is calmly sweet with subtle displays of affection that pull at your heart strings.  He is a sweetie and is tolerant of affection from strangers.
