Love Bug

Swap week was a pleasure working with Rennie.  She is known as one of the more affectionate, calm and eager to please greyhounds at SCG academy of higher learning.  Her alternate trainer expected an easy week with Rennie and she didn't disappoint.  She did all of her commands easily, was very loving to everyone and showed no signs of separation anxiety.  Her trainers are sure that in less than 2 weeks, Rennie will be happily settling into her forever family's home and even more so, into their hearts.  Get ready for Rennie "the love bug"!

Hula Hoop Hootenanny

Hello, fan club! Rennie here and this is my week! Well, I guess you can say I spent some of this week learning a new trick. My trainers hold this thing that is round and has a big hole in it. I think they call it a hula hoop. They want me to jump through it, but running around it makes more sense to me! I went through it a couple of times but I only did it to get some treats or a toy. They seemed overly excited about it, and to me it wasn't a big deal. I'm guessing this will be on the agenda for me to do tomorrow too.  As long as it makes my trainers happy... Until next week! Rennie out.

Peekaboo!

Sweet Rennie knows all of her commands with verbal and hand-signal requests!  She can be a little slow responding to “heel” but she will follow through.  She’s been learning  “peekaboo” and catching on fast!  Her inmate trainer says that Rennie enjoys pleasing her humans and doesn’t seem to mind the yummy treat rewards that follow.  She’s got “leave it” and “give” down pat as well with a verbal request.

Rennie’s inmate trainer says that not only is Rennie the cutest little brindle girl he’s ever met but that she loves attention as well!  He believes that she’s going to make an excellent addition to some lucky home!

Sweet Doggy Dreams

Hello, Club of fans! Rennie's back for another week of updates. Now my trainer is changing things up again. I used to run into my kennel no problem: I see it and then I take off into it because it is my happy place. As of late though, he wants me to stay and wait for like forever then he tells me kennel for me to go inside. On top of that, he makes me lay down before he gives me a treat. I lay down for the treat but when he leaves I get up again. I love to play with toys and lately he has a toy with a string and bones! I love this toy as much as I love running. I have dreams of running in an open field chasing bones attached to a string! Well that is all for now, until next week... Rennieout!

Peekaboo!

Fan club for Rennie is here again! We hope all of you guys are doing as great as she is. Her weeks are getting better and better. This week, her trainer has been teaching her a new trick. It's called peekaboo, and she goes behind his trainer and pokes her head out between his legs and looks up at him. She even gets rewards for it! Score! Rennie is also learning how to go up and down stairs, which was super easy for her. No problem. Until next week! Rennie out!

Popcorn!!!

Hello Rennie fans out there.  It's been another productive week for me.  I have found a new love...  Popcorn!  I'll do just about anything for it, like "down", "stay", "wait", "kennel", "here", "bed".  "Leaving it" is tough.  I just love it so much is soooooo hard to resist.  Keep the goodies (popcorn)  coming and the skies the limit on what I can learn.  Oh, by the way,  I'm loving it here.  Until next week...Peace out

Time to Learn (and Play!)

Hello again fan club! Rennie here. I just finished week two, and it was so exciting. I have adjusted well to my new environment. This week, this trainer guy has been teaching me to sit. He even has me sit before he feeds me my meal. I had been stubborn with it, but I'm breaking down because he will not give up! I also love my pink toy he lets me play with. It makes noise! My favorite! Until next week, Rennie out.

A New Hound in Town

Hello fan club! Rennie here and this is my life as a Greyhound. This week I was moved into a new house. It is stranger than any house I've ever been in but it can fit my other 12 greyhound friends in it. Since I've been here I've spent most of my time adjusting to my new home. The first night I was extremely hungry and some strange guy hand-fed me which was nice. He walks me around and makes me wait at doorways. I'm not used to it but when I do it for him, he feeds me treats! I stood on a bed for an hour wondering what I should do and I finally laid down and he fed me again! I'm starting to like this guy because all he wants to do is feed me food. Well, I'm still tired from my lawn day. Until next time . . .
