Here Comes Nicole!

Well, I passed my final testing, which means I’ll be breaking out of this place soon and heading to my forever home. Yay! It’s been real here at Jenkins, but it’s time for me to move on to bigger and better things. These guys are cool and all, but I want a family, a yard, a bed and toys to call my own. I will miss them. They have taught me so much and I can’t wait to show you everything I have learned here at Second Chance Academy for higher learning. I’m ready for a lot of love and attention from you. I’m counting down the days!

Laidback Lady

Hey there, it's Nicole! I am happy to say to my new family that I will be coming home in just one more week and I can't WAIT! I learned so much here, like sit, down, stay, and here, plus a lot of other commands. One of my personal favorites is bed - I get to lay there and relax and sleep! I've also learned how to walk on a leash and play around just a little bit, but I also like to just walk around and get to know everyone and get to know my surroundings. I can't wait to fit right in with my new family. Thanks for reading this week - see you soon!!

Pretty Pup

Today is another day of stair training and I’m going to show all the other girls just how it’s done! I happen to be the prettiest and most talented girl here. I can’t help but stare at myself anytime I see my reflection. I’m probably the smartest too. Yep. I have mastered all my commands with the exception of “down”. That’s on the agenda this week and I just know I’ll figure it out. Maybe with a few extra treats…

Graduation is coming soon, so my trainer is getting me all prettied up. I just got my nails done this week and I bet a spa day is next on the list. I can’t wait! See you soon!

Love and kisses

Nicole

Nicole's got "Reel Talent"

Nicole learned how to sit this week! No more scooping or helping her. She did it on her own. Yay for Nicole! Now she sits for everything. Nicole is one command away from knowing them all. “Down” will be on the agenda for the week. You got this Nicole.

Nicole is coming out of her shell more and more and is starting to play around for a little bit at a time. Swap week is coming up. That’s where she will go to another primary trainer to see how she does doing commands for them. More updates next week.

Slow and Steady Wins Your Heart

Nicole here! Well, I am over halfway to the finish line... I mean graduation! And I feel so much more confident than when I first arrived. I love to walk around on the big yard with my greyhound buddies. I can’t wait to show you just how fast I am. My trainers think that I am reluctant to open up but they just don't know that you always save the best for last!

Lots of love,

Nicole

Chugging Along Just Wonderfully

Dear Future Family,

Nicole has improved on all of her commands this week and got to show off her skills at show-and-tell. She is even getting better at not being so shy in front of people. She still does not particularly care for toys, but her trainer thinks that soon she will be. She's doing very well here and everyone loves on her every time they see her. She has improved so much on her commands, especially stay and heel, and she's still practicing sit. She's picking it up very well, and gets better every day. That's all for now, see you later!

Learning every day

Hey there. It's Nicole! I've been here for four weeks now and I have learned so much that I did not know before. It's so cool to learn new things. I learned to stay, and that's when my trainer walks off and I just stay in one spot. Then one of the other commands I've learned is wait. This is where I wait at the door so he can go get things out of the room for me or himself. Oh yeah, there's also one where I jump up and then jump down. It's real fun! But my favorite so far is bed, which is when he gets me a big soft bed and I get to lay on it while he walks around and watches TV. Other than that, I did my first show and tell last week and there were so many people watching me! I was shy at first, but I did what was asked of me and they said I did a very good job. Now they're showing me how to do some more commands, and I'm having a great time. Thanks for reading this week!

Lounging Lady

Dear Forever Family,

Nicole is having a blast here at Jenkins! She got to run for the first time this week and she loved every second of it. She has been working on the wait and stay commands this week and has done very well with both of them. Next week, she is going to start working on heel and sit, but until then they are still trying to fine-tune and find new things to help her get out of her shell. They are progressing a little bit at a time but she is just as sweet and loving as it gets. She loves to be loved on and lay around on the bed while the trainers watch TV. Other than that, you'll have to check back next week to see what she's been up to!

Racing to retirement

Nicole is making great progress!  She’s learned how to walk on a leash and is in the process of learning the “stay” command. She’s responding well to her name and seems to be adjusting nicely to her new environment.

Her inmate trainer says that he’s really enjoying his time with this sweet girl.  She did well with grooming when she first arrived and seems to be enjoying learning new things. Treats are a bonus.

The Retired Life is the Life for Me

Hello there, it's Reel Talent and I just want to tell you a little bit about me. My last race was April 27th and boy it was a blast, but then they told me it was time to retire. I've heard the stories about retirement and finally I get to find out for myself what it's all about. I hope it's true about what they say, you know? It's like going to the beach and seeing the beautiful countryside, and being loved by a brand new family. I can't wait! I was told I was going to be trained, and I said I would love to learn new things! They say it's going to take 10 weeks to finish and I already can't wait to show off what I'm going to learn here. I will tell you a little bit about me every week, so make sure to check out my blog. Until next week, your one-and-only Nicole!
