Treat Time for Devon

This past week was swap week, so one of the trainers had Devon. Devon is a very good boy! He plays well but calms down very easily. He had no problem with any of his commands and has mastered them all.

There were no signs of separation anxiety and he only had to take one look at his swap week trainer before he started wagging his tail and gave him the ‘I need treats’ eyes. And it worked! Devon is a beautiful dog and will make some lucky family very happy.

Toys! Toys! Toys!

Here’s your weekly update on the dashingly handsome Devon. Training has been progressing along swimmingly. He knows all the commands very well and can do most of them with only hand signals. Devon absolutely loves his toys. Once he gets a hold of one, he wants to carry it with him wherever he goes.

Devon loves to give kisses anytime you pet him. He’s a sweet boy and lots of fun to have around. His forever family is going to be glad they chose him.

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

What a great show and tell this week with Devon. He performed his commands very well. His trainer was very proud of him. Now to improve on distance and duration.

Devon does very well with changes. There was maintenance being done in the dorm, so the trainers and their dogs had to hang out in the chapel. Devon also had to adjust to a new trainer on the team. With all these unusual activities, Devon’s trainer feels he had a good week. And as always, he’s remained a love bug to everyone. His trainer is confident he’ll have no problems adjusting in his forever home. Get ready for “Devon The Love Bug!”

Happy Hound

Devon’s inmate trainer says that Devon is gorgeous, fun loving, well-mannered and loves attention.  Training is going great!  He seems to enjoy training along with the yummy treat rewards.  They are working to perfect his response to commands as well as distance and duration.

Devon loves to run in the big yard with his friends.  His inmate trainer says that it’s a beautiful sight seeing them running and playing together.

Can't Wait To Meet You!

Hi Everyone! This is your favorite, handsome, lovable dog, Devon! Coming to you live. I’m really enjoying my time here. Learning all these new things and getting yummy treats and affection just for doing them. It can’t get better than that.

Show and tell was the other day and I did pretty good. Half way through, I got so excited when I saw everyone’s eyes were on me, that t took my trainer a minute to get me to focus. But after that, I finished the rest of my commands like nobody’s business. I told you I was smart.

As much as I like it here, my trainers keep telling me how I’ll like it even better at the next place I go to. It’s called a home. I’ll be the center of attention and live with you and get loved on for the rest of my life. He said this will be my forever family. It sounds really nice and I can’t wait to meet you.

Outgoing and Affectionate

Devon improved on all his commands this week, especially “sit” and “kennel”. “Down” is the next command on the list to work on.

Devon’s friendly, outgoing and affectionate attitude has remained strong. He’s always happy to meet the other guys in the dorm. He’s quick to accept hugs around the neck, lean into people and give kisses. If you don’t mind that. Devon will be a smart and loving new addition to his forever family.

Non-Stop Tail Wag

This week Devon has made steady improvement on all existing commands and has even started learning 3 new commands!

When Devon is not working on training he loves to lay on his dog bed while watching TV.  He’s always happy to meet new people and his tail wags happily all the time.

His inmate trainer says that the more time he spends with Devon the more confident he is that he’ll make a wonderful pet for some wonderful family.

Easy Going Attitude

Devon has learned a lot in his first full week at Jenkins. He’s an easy going greyhound that is totally comfortable in his new surroundings already. He has picked up his new feeding and dog run schedule and has improved greatly on his leash walking skills. His commands are coming right along also.

Devon is so endearing with his laid back, yet happy and lovable attitude . Even when he’s sleeping, Devon grows on you, with his full-body twitches and little barks when he’s dreaming of chasing bunnies. His trainer is confident that Devon will chase down and catch the hearts of his forever family.

Dressed To Impress

After 4 days of getting to know Devon, his trainer is very impressed with him.  His most obvious trait is his gorgeous coat and markings. Everyone at the prison comments on this handsome boy.  His fur is so smooth and soft and his trainer loves his white stripe up the bridge of his nose.  Besides being easy on the eyes, his best trait is his personality.  He’s VERY affectionate and a happy go-lucky guy.  His tail is almost always wagging.  He likes to meet everyone and is quick to get close for hugs and kisses.

Devon is very curious about his surroundings, yet will quickly focus on anyone with treats.  He has been calm and quiet the first few nights.  With all these wonderful attributes, his trainer expects Devon to spoil him for the next 10 weeks, but even more so, to spoil the family lucky enough to adopt him!
