Furever Friend

It says it all in her race name….”Real Delightful”. And that she is!

Maddie has come so far in the time she has been at Jenkins. Even though sudden movements and loud noises cause her to panic, she is improving everyday. Her trainers figure she will do wonderful in her forever home. She knows all of her commands and she’s super lovable. Give her time and patience and she will be your forever friend.

Sweet-Natured

It’s hard to believe that training is nearing the end!  Maddie’s inmate trainer says that Maddie continues to grow more comfortable and less distracted by her surroundings.  She continues to emerge from her shell showing a well-trained, happy and eager to please sweetheart.  She’s made a lot of progress off leash lately!  She’s doing entire training sessions off leash these days.  If anything startles her, she returns almost immediately.  He says that she’s even starting to relax on the bed among all the people and other hounds. 

Her inmate trainer says he’s confident that Maddie will love having a forever home where her sweet nature will flourish!

Growing Everyday

Maddie is a truly loving girl!  She can be a little shy, but has come a long way while in training!  Her inmate trainer says that she continues to grow every day.  She’s not a big fan of sudden noises and that can distract her a bit when training, but she gets back on track.  Her inmate trainer says that he hopes that Maddie finds a forever home that loves her as much as he does.  He says that it may take Maddie a little longer to warm up to someone new, but it’s well worth the wait once she bonds with you!  She has an amazing sparkle that will touch your heart!

How Can You Resist Her?

Maddie’s progress this week has been phenomenal. It has become a dorm project getting her to fully open up. They have definitely made a difference in her and can’t wait to see the final result.

Maddie is doing great with her basic commands. Down, wait and stay need improvement and her trainer will continue to work with her right up to graduation. Maddie is such a sweet girl and is going to love her new forever family and home.

Loving Girl

Maddie arrived a little on the timid side.  After she found out that the loud noises were not going to hurt her, she began to open up and settle in.  She’s become a very loving girl and seems to enjoy being outside.  She continues to improve with her eye contact and command response.  Her inmate trainer says that he’s very proud of Maddie and can’t wait to see what she learns next! 

 

Gleeful Play

Maddie is doing great!  She’s progressing nicely with all of her commands.  Maddie is doing much better and likes to play with tennis balls out in the small yard.  Her inmate trainer says that it’s fun watching her play.  You can’t help, but smile when you see her playing gleefully.

Maddie’s inmate trainer says that he believes that Maddie is going to do really well in a home environment.  Prison can be loud and hard to adjust to when your heart desires peace an quiet the way Maddie does.   

Ready For The Day

The last few mornings, Maddie has woken up happy and ready for the day.  She’s been bouncing around wagging her tail with happiness.  

She’s doing really well with all of the commands.  They worked on everything this week except “down.”   So far she hasn’t shown any interest in toys, but she will chase after a tennis ball.  She really likes it when another dog plays with the tennis ball.  

Maddie loves to be around her fellow greyhounds and seems to feel a sense of security around the pack.  She still tends to be shy around people, but is very loving and trusting with her training team that she has formed a bond with.  She surprised her inmate trainer during Show and Tell this week by doing a fantastic job with her commands in front of everyone.  Her inmate trainer says that he’s spent a lot of time with Maddie and it’s going to heartbreaking to see her go.  

Treats And Love Please

Maddie is progressing nicely with training.  Her inmate trainer says Maddie is preforming heel, bed, stay, leave it, wait and kennel really well in the training room.  When they work on commands in the day room ,she’s a little more shy.  She’s not a big fan of all the noise and ruckus and seems to lose concentration. She’s improving a little more each time with each training session.

Maddie’s inmate trainer says that he’s looking forward to helping Maddie build her confidence and watching her grow.  He says that she’s a very sweet girl who enjoys treats and love. 

Making Progress

Sweet Maddie has been working on adjusting to this environment she’s in.  She told her inmate trainer that this place was too loud.  Doors slamming, keys jingling, and people talking loud are very different from what she’s used to.  She did say that she was happy with the treat production.  She seems interested in learning more about retirement.  

Maddie’s inmate trainer says that Maddie is making progress and does really well with making eye contact. She’s showing that she loves belly rubs and has a very loving personality.  She enjoys hanging out with her other greyhound friends.

Quiet Girl

Maddie has arrived for training!  She came in clean, but they gave her a bath and groomed her with the rest of the group and she did well with the process.  She’s not too crazy about the noisy environment, but it’s a big change for her and the other hounds. He says that she’ll settle in and gain confidence soon. 

 She has been doing really good with eating and spending time in her kennel.  Her inmate trainer says that she hasn’t made a sound yet.  She’s been enjoying treats and is starting to catch on to her name, kennel and release!  She’s gonna love training when she realizes it comes with more treats!
