Smart Boy!

This is Ramsey’s final week and his trainer is going to miss him terribly. He is SUCH a good dog! His trainer hopes that you enjoy having him in your life as much as he has. This week was final testing and he aced that mess. He even scored great marks on leash-walking! He always stayed at his trainer’s side while he did his commands and showed off his walking skills.

Ramsey is a smart boy and should you wish to teach him any more commands, you should not have any issue whatsoever. It won’t take him long to pick anything up! It is up to you whatever you want to teach him. His trainer has some advice for how to help him acclimate and maintain the commands – when it’s feeding time, his trainer does the sit and stay commands while the food is being put in the bowls in the kennel. It helps them to have routine, but you can always make a new routine.

He has a busy week ahead getting ready for graduation. He will be bathed, have his nails clipped, ears cleaned and teeth brushed. He’s got to look good for his graduation photos, after all.

A special note from his trainer: “I am looking forward to you meeting him, even though I will not be there. He is such a lovable dog. All he wants is to be loved, petted, rubbed and of course fed! Thank you from all of us for giving Ramsey a second chance, and an opportunity for us to train him for you.”

Next Stop.... Forever Home

Well, training is almost over for Ramsey.  His inmate trainer says that he hopes that Ramsey will get a forever home that loves him and spoils him rotten!  He says that he can’t help but picture Ramsey in his new home curled up on a couch or dog bed surrounded by toys, and lots of them.

He loves affection and attention.  He will lay his head in his inmate trainer’s lap for ear scratches and neck rubs. He’s an easy going, smart boy, who is going to be missed.  It’s hard to believe that final testing is coming up and the dogs will be going to their forever homes soon!

Belly Rubs Are The Bomb!

Well, the training session is almost over for Ramsey.  His inmate trainer says it’s hard to believe that in a couple more weeks he’ll be leaving for his forever home.

Ramsey’s inmate trainer says that working with Ramsey has been a real treat.  He says that Ramsey is a chowhound who is willing to eat any type of tasty treat you have to offer.  He enjoys being loved on and will come up to you and rub his head or body against you asking for attention.

When you sit beside him he likes to roll on his side and puts his paws on you, wanting you to rub his belly and chest.  He’s a loving dog and easy to be around.  He’s greyt company.

As far as his commands go… it was another week of all 10s during Show and Tell!  His love for treats has made training a little easier. He picks up on things quickly and enjoys the yummy rewards.

Full Of Life And Love

Ramsey has adjusted to his environment very well.  His inmate trainer says that it is amazing how these pups can tell time once they get into a schedule.  They know exactly when it’s time for a potty break and when it’s feeding time.  He says that Ramsey is one smart cookie who keeps him on his toes by anticipating the next command.  He mixes it up to keep it fun for Ramsey.

Ramsey’s inmate trainer says that Ramsey is very sweet and loves attention and of course treats. Exercise and play keep him happy and full of life.  He loves squeaky toys and his inmate trainer says he can only imagine what Ramsey will be like when he sees his first squirrel!

Genuine Sweetheart!

Ramsey is a wonderful happy boy, who will fills your heart with delight. He loves belly rubs and will roll on his side and lift his paw to get what he wants. There’s no way to deny Ramsey a little loving when his leg is also propped on you. He’s a leaner too. Give him some petting when he’s standing up and he’ll into you, given affection right back.

Ramsey responds to commands well and nearly has them all perfected. He is very smart and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. Oh the tail. His tail is constantly wagging, hoping someone will give him their undivided attention. He also loves the company of other dogs. His trainer is certain that Ramsey will love exploring and greeting his new forever family. He’s a genuine sweetheart!

Attention Hound

Another week for Ramsey has flown by.  His inmate trainer says that they spent an hour watching TV yesterday. Ramsey hung out on his bed relaxing and enjoying the down time.

His inmate trainer says that Ramsey running is a sight to see!  You can see the joy of it on his face as he flies around the yard.  He’ll keep pace with the other dogs till he’s tired then he’ll go find some people to love on him.  He’s not a shy dog and attention is at the top of his list.

He’s doing really well with leave it even if food is on the floor!  His inmate trainer says he’s looking forward to seeing what next week holds!

A Gentleman and a Scholar

Ramsey has been doing so well! His trainer has been practicing commands with him at feeding time - he has Ramsey do a sit and stay until he walks to the front of the kennel, tells him “release/kennel” and then he eats in his kennel. He is doing so well at it that he now automatically sits before you even ask. He is one smart boy!

Just to give you another idea of how smart he is, when his trainer is walking with him and he gets a little ahead of him or his trainer stops, Ramsey will look back, stop, and come all the way back in a loop to line up at his side in a heel position! He does it without even having to be asked! What a smart dog. It sure doesn’t take him long to learn anything, especially if it involves getting food, rubs or pets!

Ramsey is truly a great dog. He is so loving and gentle. He loves to get petted, rubbed and loved on, and loves to lean against you so that you can rub his sides or scratch his neck, tail wagging the whole time. Ramsey is a very loving dog and one you will love having in your family!

This is all for this week - hope you stay tuned for more of Ramsey’s adventures!

Sweet Boy!

Toys. Toys. Toys! Ramsey loves them. One look at them and he was in love; tossing them up in the air and running around with the squeaky toy. Back to his bed he would go, to give it a chew. His trainer would squeak a toy. Ramsey’s ears would perk up and off he went to try and find it. He likes you to toss it for him, so he can run it down and take it back to his bed. He is good at “giving” the toy back. If you don’t mind throwing it again for him to chase.

Ramsey is slow to respond to the commands, but is improving. No worries. His trainer is sure he will have them figured out in no time. Ramsey is like a big baby. He just loves to be loved on.

Any Bed Will Do

Ramsey’s trainer already knows what one of his favorite commands will be…”Bed”. If you walk Ramsey by any dog bed, he automatically wants to go to it, lay down and roll on his side, front paws in the air, just waiting for a belly rub. He is a very loving dog that enjoys getting attention from anyone that walks by. As his trainer is writing this, Wyatt is in his kennel with all four paws in the air - “roaching”, mouth open catching flies. Yep. He’s a goofy boy.

Ramsey is progressing steadily with his commands. Check back next week for more of his adventures and silly antics.

Lean on Me

Ramsey has had quite an interesting few first few days! He came in with his tail wagging. A happy dog who was curious to see everything and explore. First up was getting a bath. No problem for this guy. He just stood there and relaxed while the trainers bathed him. He got so relaxed at one point that he just sat down, and then he did it several more times! He doesn't mind baths at all. Then they weighed him and cleaned his ears. He's a very easy dog and gave them no problems, letting them do whatever they needed to do to get him ready. Then they let him relax and dried off, and later his trainer got him to eat and let him explore his new surroundings. He had to sniff and check out all the new places, people and smells.

If you're looking for a young happy, easygoing, and handsome greyhound... look no further! Every time he comes out of his kennel, he is happy. He enjoys meeting new people and being rubbed, scratched, and loved on. In fact, he loves it so much that he leans against you. He loves affection and people and the good thing is that he doesn't get so excited that he jumps up on them. He is just a really loving and well-behaved dog. So far his trainer is focusing on getting him used to his new surroundings, developing trust and bonding with him, and getting him used to doing commands. Just the simple stuff; we’ll save the hard stuff for later. His trainer says he is doing a really great job and he really likes Ramsey a lot. He has no doubt that you will too!
