Greyt Times Ahead

Hey guys!  They tell me I’m graduating this Thursday.  This place has been a blast for me because I love all of the attention.  Now don’t get me wrong, toys and tennis balls are awesome, but those rubs on my front paws when I’m relaxing… are to die for!  Now I know why all the ladies like to get pedicures.

It won’t be long now. I can’t wait to meet you!  Please have a few treats and lots of loving ready. See you very soon.

Sweet Sasha

She's All That and More

This week was swap week for the greyhounds and Sasha’s swap week trainer says…Sasha is an amazing hound!!! Whoever adopts this sweet girl is going to wonder where she has been all their life. He has already fell in love with this girl in such a short time. Sasha’s primary trainer has done a wonderful job teaching her the basic commands and some fun extras (paws up, shake, fetch). She had no problems doing them for her swap week trainer.

Sasha is a very loving and comforting pup that is easy to love. She’s an all around great girl and she can’t wait to meet her forever family.

Lovin' Every Minute Of It

Hard to believe that in 2 weeks I’ll be going to this new forever family place.  I’m at the top of the fantastic list with all my commands; yeah, I’m that good.  Oh and, when in the big yard… I’m in the top 4 for speed.  AND I look amazing doing it!

I enjoy playtime and treat time of course.  I do a few things my inmate trainer asks me to and he becomes a treat dispenser. Needless to say I’m all about training when he’s dishing out those yummy rewards.

Well, I guess I better sign off and see what I can go sniff out.  I’m looking forward to figuring out what this forever home thing is.  Rumor is there will be lots of soft beds, toys and treats.  Sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

Loving Girl

Sasha has been working with her interim trainer this week.  He says that Sasha has no problems performing all of her commands.  Sasha is a loving girl who enjoys running and playing in the big yard.

Her inmate trainer says that he’s had a great time working with Sasha, and it’s hard to believe there are only three more weeks left in the program!

Sensational Sasha

Hey Sasha fans!

It’s week 6 already and soon I’ll be with you, my forever family. I’m doing good here at Jenkins. i did all of my commands for my secondary trainer this week. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m getting pretty good at these things called commands. I know them all with verbal cues and hand signals. Treats are great, but I prefer some loving for a reward. I can’t wait to get to my forever home!! See you in a few more weeks!!

Who's up for a little game of fetch?

Sasha is doing great at Jenkins! She knows all her basic commands and is working on perfecting them. She had another stair training this week and her trainer is proud to announce that she is a pro at going up and down them. She will probably take time getting used to your stairs, but should catch on quickly. She is a fast learner, so once she does them a few times, she should be good to go. Patience and praise are the key, and maybe a few treats thrown in.

Sasha has found a new love. it is green, round, flies in the air and is a blast to play with. It’s a tennis ball!! She is learning fetch and the whole concept of bringing it back to her trainer. Ready. Set. Fetch!

Toys or treats? That is the question...

Hey Guys! Thanks for tuning in for another week of “The Life of A Retired Greyhound” named Sasha. That’s me! I’m starting to enjoy the many toys they have here for me to play with. I’ve even learned how to “down” while playing with these squeaky things. My trainer should have broke out the toys earlier. I love learning new things when getting to play with toys. The tasty treats he dishes out, are pretty awesome too. I know “hurry”, “let’s go”, “wait”, “here”, “sit”, “bed”, “stay”, “leave it” and “bed” very well. My trainer told me I needed to improve on the others, and I told him, “I’ve got this!” As long as you got the toys and treats, I’ve got the time! See ya next week.

Just where the heck am I?!

Hello! Welcome back to my life here at Jenkins. I'm adjusting well to my environment here and learning a lot of new and exciting things. I started to learn stay this week. I don't understand why I have to stay, when my trainer walks away. He is kind of confusing. One second he wants me to walk beside him and the next he doesn't. I think he needs to be trained instead of me! He also taught me sit, which I am slowly getting the hang of. That’s a tough command for us greyhounds, but I will have it mastered by the time graduation rolls around. Until next week, see you later!

Sweet Sasha

Sasha has been adjusting to her new life at the prison.  She’s learned that if she looks at her inmate trainer when he calls her name, she gets a treat!  She seems to think this is a pretty good gig.  She’s been working on her leash walking skills and learning new words like, bed, heel, and kennel.

Sasha’s inmate trainer says that he’s looking forward to the coming days with this sweet girl! He says he can’t wait to see Sasha’s personality emerge!
