Izzy's Something Special

Well, it’s the last week of Izzy’s training.  His inmate trainer says that it’s been an absolute joy working with him.  This week they went over his commands without using treats, and as always, he did a fantastic job.   

Izzy loves attention and will use his puppy dog eyes to work you over for a little extra love.  He loves chin rubs and will talk you into one before you even realize you’re doing it.  

Izzy’s inmate trainer says that he believes that Izzy is going to wrap his new family right around his paw just as it should be.  

An Absolute Blast

Izzy’s alternate inmate trainer says that having Izzy for Swap Week was an absolute blast!  He settled in with no problems and was very happy and eager to tackle whatever was thrown at him.  He did great at Show and Tail.  He’s very attentive of his surroundings and those around him.  His alternate inmate trainer says he believes that Izzy is going to make a truly wonderful pet for some very lucky family! 

Happiness = Izzy

Izzy is doing absolutely fantastic!  His inmate trainer says that Izzy is so smart and well behaved that he believes Izzy is going to do great in any home.  He said that just this week Izzy performed all his commands for a different inmate trainer with no issues!  

Izzy doesn’t seem to care for the loud noises of the staff radios.  He doesn’t appear overly fearful just more of a hey, that’s really loud and annoying kind of reaction.

TV Time With Izzy

Izzy has mastered all his basic commands now and knows them both with verbal cues and hand signals. He is also doing great walking on a leash. His trainer said Izzy is one of the best dogs he has had the pleasure of training.

Izzy likes to hang out and watch tv with his trainer. He likes to go running and loves getting petted. This week was bath time. Izzy will just stand there and let you wash him with no problem. He’s a great dog and is going to make an awesome addition to some lucky family.

Smarty Pants

Izzy’s inmate trainer says that Izzy is the smartest dog he’s ever worked with.  Izzy has been a very fast learner and already knows all of the commands.  This week they have been going over everything to re-enforce all the commands and he’s doing great!  

He says that Izzy is a loving boy who absolutely loves attention.  He believes that the he is going to be a wonderful addition to his new forever family.  

Izzy's Pretty Awesome, Izzn't He?

Izzy is doing wonderful! He is so well-behaved and he knows all his commands. He also walks on his leash so well. They're still trying to get him to play with toys but not having any luck so far - he really just likes to hang out in his kennel and be lazy.

They work on his commands about three times a day for 15 minutes per session. He has really made his trainer so happy with his progress, and he's a beautiful dog with a lovable and calm personality. He and his trainer have a lot of fun walking around and learning new things. All the time that his trainer gets to spend with Izzy is great. He knows what is expected of him, and he does what he can to please his trainer. Check back next week for more updates on his progress!

Fast Learner

Izzy is coming along very nicely.  He loves to play and run.  He does great with his commands and walks really well on the leash.  He responds to his name and has performed a couple of sits.  His inmate trainer thinks that Izzy will have sit down pat really soon.  

Izzy learns really fast and has his kennel routine down to an art.  If he’s excited, he calms easily and gets along with all the other dogs.

Gimme Some Loving

Izzy is doing wonderful!  His inmate trainer says that he’s very happy with Izzy’s progress.  He learns very fast and holds onto the knowledge he’s gained.  He absolutely loves to be petted and loved on.  He doesn’t care that much for toys so far, but it’s early yet and that may change.  He loves to jump around and play. He just doesn’t see the benefit of toys yet. 

He received a pawdicure and seemed to enjoy it.  He just laid there as if he should go to the spa every day.  Izzy got to run in the big yard today and loved every second of it!

Greyt Leash Manners

Training is going good for Izzy. He is a smart boy. He has learned how to walk on the leash without pulling you everywhere. He knows heel, kennel, bed and his name. Next week they will add stay and wait. He is not very treat motivated and would rather be petted and loved on instead. Izzy is a very good dog and his trainer is enjoying this time with him.

Izzy Has Arrived

Izzy is a golden brown greyhound with big beautiful eyes that can get him treats any time. LOL He is very lovable and very calm. He got a bath when he first arrived at Jenkins and he did great. His trainer was impressed.

This week Izzy is learning his name, working on his leash walking skills and just getting to know each other. His trainer said it’s going to be a fun 10 weeks with this sweet boy. Until next time…
