The Final Week

This in the final week with Bruiser and his inmate trainer says that he’s really going to miss this wonderful boy.  He says that Bruiser has been a lot of fun to work with!

Bruiser is a great boy who can get a little excited at times, but calms down quickly.  He’s a fast learner especially when treats are involved!  His inmate trainer is proud to report that Bruiser has learned all of his commands including jump!  He will jump about 16-20” high onto a bench or table.

Saying goodbye is never easy and Bruiser’s inmate trainer says that working with Bruiser these last 10 weeks has been a pleasure.  He sends his best to Bruiser and his new family.

Swap Week? Oh, That's a Breeze!

Guess who had breezed through swap week this week?  Yep, Bruiser!  His alternate inmate trainer says that Bruiser has a fun attitude with an energetic nature.  He loves to play with toys and doesn’t mind sharing them or his food.  His alternate trainer says that Bruiser knows all of his basic commands and was a pleasure to work with!  He has no doubt that Bruiser is going to be a big hit in his new forever home!

Keeping Your Eye on the Prize

This past week Bruiser has been working on his response times as well as extending his stays.  They’ve also been working on phasing out treat rewards.  Bruiser has a tendency to get excited about the treat reward and will jump up to receive early payment.  His inmate trainer is working to keep Bruiser calm before the reward is given.  Bruiser is catching on quickly and keeping his eye on the prize!

Bruiser’s inmate trainer says that Bruiser is such a clown when he gets excited.  His facial expressions are quite amusing and will keep you smiling.

Loves Attention

Yo Yo Bruiser here!  I’m working with these off da leash uber cool inmate trainers.  Ya gotta understand I’m a young guy so I stay alert and like to check things out.  I make sure I watch my inmate trainer because he may need to feed me a treat or something and I don’t wanna miss that. Sometimes he’s a little slow makin’ his request so I just speed through all of my commands to prove that I can do them all and deserve the treat.  And, let’s just be real I bust out those command moves like a pro.

I’ve been working with my secondary inmate trainer this week.  He’s a pretty cool guy and hey as long as he's dishing out the treats I’m willing to work with him.  We’ve been working on this “heel” command as well as “backup”.  He wants me to lay down in my bed a lot.  He says it’s so I learn how to do it on command.  I’m getting used to it being my on command relaxing place. Hey if he wants to reward me for chillin’ I’m down with that (literally - HA).

I know that I don’t have to tell you that I’m a nice looking guy seeing as how SCG has my photo listed so I’ll just let you know that I’m young and can be playful at times.  I carry around all this cuteness with ease and I revel in the attention humans dish out.

It's all good!

Mr. Accomplishment

Bruiser has gotten very good at all of his commands!  He will do whatever you ask him to do immediately!  His inmate trainer is still working with him on the “jump” command, but Bruiser will have this figured out soon.  Staying on the bed is also a work in progress as Bruiser would rather be by his inmate trainer’s side, but he’s improving daily.  Bruiser has also learned quite a few extra commands: bow, spin, whisper, kiss, show me love, back, fetch, drop, give, take, paws up, and say hello!  He’s such a clown when he gets started he will run through every command he knows trying to weasel a treat from his trainer.

His inmate trainer says he’s having a great time working with Bruiser and he can’t wait to see what Bruiser learns next.

Playful and Happy

This week Bruiser and his inmate trainer worked on all of his basic commands.  He knows how to do most of them and his inmate trainer is working to perfect Bruiser’s response time to each.  He already has an impressive list of extra commands under his fur… errr, belt, such as: bow, spin, back, whisper, kiss, show me love and fetch!

Bruiser is a playful guy and can get excited quickly.  He doesn’t realize how big he is when he’s playing and full of happiness.  His inmate trainer is teaching Bruiser to "settle" before training and treats.  He’s come a long way and his inmate trainer is very proud of Bruiser’s accomplishments!

The Thinking Man

Bruiser has come so far in the last week!  He already knows most of his commands!  He still needs some work on “jump” and “stay,” but is coming along very well.  Bruiser has also begun learning some extra commands!  He has started to learn “bow,” “spin,” “back,” “whisper,” and “fetch”!  His inmate trainer is very proud of how smart Bruiser is!  His trainer says that the first two weeks were a challenge at first because of how playful Bruiser is, but once he started learning and having to think he began to blossom!  Of course he’s still a goofball and would much rather play or be loved on, but he enjoys training too!

Figuring Things Out

This week Bruiser and his inmate trainer worked on “sit,” “down,” “here,” “stairs,” “jump,” and “stay”.  Bruiser is a playful so “stay” is a little difficult for him.  No worries though, Bruiser is an intelligent dog and is improving every day!  He also seems to enjoy figuring things out.  His inmate trainer says that once they get the basic commands down he wants to work on some games with Bruiser!  He can’t wait to watch this boys mind in action!

Happy-Go-Lucky

Week two and progress is already noticeable!  Bruiser’s inmate trainer says that Bruiser is a young guy with a good dose of happy puppy.  He loves to play and can get carried away quickly, but calms down pretty easy.  Bruiser is a fast learner and in two weeks he has already learned: here, heel, kennel, bed, sit, down, wait, and his name!  His leash skills are improving too!

Not only is Bruiser a handsome boy he also has velvety soft fur that you can’t resist touching.  No worries though because he enjoys all the attention!  Bruiser is a happy-go-lucky kinda guy that will steal your heart in a flash.  His inmate trainer can’t wait to see what the coming training days have in store for them!

A Brand New Start

It’s Bruiser’s first week at the prison and his inmate trainer says that he can already tell that it’s going to be a lot of fun working with this sweet dog! Bruiser is a young boy who can be a bit goofy at times but he seems to be very smart and is catching on quickly.  In just a few days he’s already learned his name, “heel,” “here,” “kennel,” and “bed”!  His inmate trainer believes that Bruiser is going to excel quickly!

Bruiser is curious about everything and loves to go exploring.  Bruiser’s inmate trainer says that the photos of Bruiser do not do him justice.  He has an expressive face and tail that can’t stop wagging.  His coat is extremely soft and once you pet you will not want to stop.  Bruiser loves the attention and will stand or lay next to you for as long as you will pet him.  His inmate trainer says that he is looking forward to the next nine weeks.
