Her new adoptive family will love her.

Austin loves to run and play with the other dogs during potty breaks, but hardly ever barks. Inside she is always calm and laid-back. Overall she is a very sweet and loving dog. You will just adore her!

Awesome Austin

The dogs switched trainers this week to prepare them for following commands from their new families next month, and Austin did a fantastic job with the transition. She showed no stress or anxiety at all about the change.

Austin continues to be a very quiet and sweet dog who loves affection from everyone. Her favorite things are running outside, playing with the other dogs, chew toys, and peanut butter.

Miss Personality

Austin is doing very well with trainings and knows her basic commands, but she can be slow at following through at time. Her trainers are working on that. She has learned extra tricks, a couple of those are “Bounce” and “Spin.” She is very treat motivated. She also is on a schedule and knows it very well. She knows when it’s training time, playtime and most of all dinner time! LOL

Austin likes attention and enjoys spending time in the room lounging on her bed. She loves running and playing with the other dogs. She is great with the other dogs and likes the staff members too. She has the best personality and is starting to show it more and more as time goes by.

Mastering Her Moves

Austin has been working a lot on learning extra tricks this week. Her trainers have also started having her perform her commands on the hard floors to help her overcome her fear of them. She is now comfortable doing all her commands off of the carpet. Good girl Austin.

She loves to play with all of the other dogs and chew on squeaky toys, but mostly she’s a very calm dog who loves nothing more than a good nap.

Fun Loving Austin

Austin now knows all of her commands very well, so she and her trainer are working on extra tricks. She can be a little lazy and disinterested at the beginning of training, but once she realizes there’s no getting out of it, she does very well. She would rather run around, play with squeaky toys, and try to get all the yummies out of her Kong.

Austin is a total sweetie-pie. She has her shy moments, but is playful and always full of personality. She is a very curious dog who loves to explore, inside and out.

A Real Companion

Austin really opened up and started to show her personality this week. Austin is not as comfortable around a large group of people, but is still a playful girl. She is very smart and really listens to her trainer. She knows most of her basic commands very well, but is having a little trouble with the “Stay” and “Leave It”. No worries as we are only in week 3.

Austin’s trainer is still building a bond with her, so patience and understanding is the key. Austin’s personality is so sweet. Her trainer loves having her around. She is a real companion.

A Few Favorites

This week Austin’s trainers have learned that she loves bananas and birds. One is her favorite treat, the other she loves to chase in the yard. Can you guess which one she managed to catch this week? I’ll give you a hint: not the one you might expect to see on your kitchen counter.

Austin is learning her commands quickly, so her trainers are spending most of their time on making sure she follows them. Right now she only listens when she feels like it, but 8 weeks from now she is sure to be listening like a pro!

Meet Austin!

Austin was so much fun to watch when she first arrived. Her trainer described it as a ball of energy and curiosity.

She did very well during her first bath, and waited so patiently while her trainer did everything she needed to do. They are currently working on the basics: building a bond, and getting used to the stairs and shiny floors (both new and scary to our retired greys!). She’s doing good with both. Check back next week to see what she has learned.
