Such a Smartie

Rubbi is such a great dog! She is going to make someone a great pet in a couple of weeks. She is very loving and just so very smart. She is a quick learner and is eager to learn new tricks and commands (especially if she is getting treats). She loves treats, and even though they’ve been cutting back on her number of treats per day it hasn’t affected her training.

She is friendly with all of the staff and inmates at Pulaski. She loves to relax in a quiet room and be loved on by anyone who will spend time with her. Rubbi knows her schedule very well, she knows exactly when feeding times and potty breaks are. She loves playing with toys, and shares well with all of the other dogs.

Rubbi has learned the command “Whisper” this week.  She learns so quickly, and it is nothing to teach her extra tricks.  She is such an amazing dog.  Her trainer is continuing to work with Rubbi on the stairs and her basic commands to keep them fresh.

Running with Rubbi

Rubbi is such a loving dog who enjoys lots of attention from her trainers. Her favorite times of day are the early morning potty break and midday outside time, when she loves to run around with the other girls in the program.

Mornings are Rubbi’s favorite time to train (after her nap from running around outside), but she loves any and all kinds of treats, so she will practice her commands and tricks any time of day happily. She learns things so quickly. She has learned a list of extras: I love you, twirl, spin, bounce, bang bang, shake, which hand, high five, peek a boo, kiss, show me love, paws up and bow. Wow!

Her trainer has taught her the “Speak” command too, and Rubbi uses her new found voice to let them know when she wants some attention.
