Out of My Shell and into My Forever Home!

This is the final week of the 23rd session! Chop’s team has truly enjoyed his company and working with him. After training him every day and building a bond, his training team truly grew to love this guy. They were always looking forward to seeing his progress week by week, and Chop always improved after each week of training. He came all the way out of his shell during his final week, and played with some toys! He spent his last week going through commands, playing with toys, and eating super tasty peanut butter treats. And now it’s your turn to experience the magic of greyhound playfulness!

Swap Week Sweetie

This week was such an experience for Chop’s swap week trainer! Chop is very different from his primary pup – Chop is extremely laidback and down to earth. He loves lying on the bed and eating treats, and had a blast walking around on the small yard. His swap week trainer thought it would take a while for him to open up, but Chop warmed right up to a new person – so he should warm right up to his new forever family: you!

Special Guy

Chop has had a really exciting week this week!  He’s had a huge breakthrough coming out of his shell.  He now enjoys hanging out in his bed in the big room all day long. His inmate trainer says that he’s so proud of Chop!

Chop walks up and down the stairs with ease.  He’s made wonderful progress on the rest of his commands especially “jump” and “off”. His inmate trainer says that Chop is truly special guy who is going to make a wonderful addition to his new forever family.

Is It Love?

What a tremendous week Chop had. He got all 10’s on his commands and he did them with lots of excitement!. He improved so much over the last couple weeks. Way to go Chop!! For all of his hard work he we rewarded a very tasty peanut butter treat.

This week Chop was able to roam freely around the dorm with Emma, another greyhound in the program. He enjoys her company. Could it be puppy love? Next week Chop is learning some extras. Can you guess which ones?

Oink. Oink.

Chop is coming along nicely. His trainer believes other than food time, his favorite part of the day is getting brushed. He loves it!

During play time Chop enjoys his rubber pig. He likes this over the squeaky toys, as it makes an “oink” sound. He will keep chomping on it, just to hear the piggy go Oink, Oink! Training is progressing well. He knows most of his basic commands well. Chop needs to work on “sit”, “down”, “stay”, “jump” and “leave it”, but his trainer is sure he will be a pro at them by graduation.

Chop is adjusting to the routine at Jenkins. When they call dog run, he is up and ready to go! He always brings a smile to his trainer’s face and I’m sure he will do the same for you.

Laid Back Boy With A Big Heart

Chop has really started opening up this week.  His inmate trainer says that he’s had the joy of watching him adjust to his new environment developing bonds.  He’s doing very well on his commands and preforming and executing them while being distracted.  Chop loves kibble and will gently take it from his inmate trainer’s hand.  Chop’s a laid back boy with a big heart.

Chop’s inmate  trainer says that it’s been great working with Chop and can’t wait to see what Chop tackles next!

Pet me please

Good Ole Chop is doing a fine job this week.  Stairs were introduced for the first time and Chop did great! You would think he’s been doing them all his life.  Chop loves to play with toys and his trainer thinks he loves them more than treats!  His leash walking is coming along nicely and he has gotten heel and let’s' go down to a “T”.

Chop is one of the biggest greyhounds in the program and one of the biggest leaners.  He loves to lean on you just wanting a smile from you and a rub of the ears.  He loves to be petted and loved on.  He’s going to make his forever family very happy.  He’s one LOVABLE pup!

Hard Work Pays off

This has been another week of tremendous progress for Chop. He has truly bonded with his trainer and trusts him. It took awhile, but his trainer has figured out Chop’s true motivation…Squeaky toys!. He loves squeaky toys. His trainer spends time with Chop, playing with toys after a productive training session. He knows “hurry”, “let’s go” and “heel” well. “Heel” has become second nature to Chop after a week of hard work and dedication. He’s come a long way in such a short time.

Squeaky toy time!

Since the first week, Chop has successfully adjusted and gotten used to temporarily living in the dorm. He has also managed to make some new friends with neighboring trainers or other dogs. His trainer is also glad to report that Chop, after just a couple of days, finally found his motivation - squeaky toys! He is absolutely dazzled by the high-pitched sounds that his fuzzy giraffe makes. His trainer plans to reward him with squeaky toy time for doing good things and mastering his commands.

What A Cutie!

It’s the start of the 10 week training program!  Chop is doing great!  His inmate trainer says that anytime Chop enters the room he expects attention from the humans.  He knows he’s a cutie and he uses it.

Chop has been spending time getting to know his training team and adjusting to his new environment. He’s learning that some new words are followed up with treats when he performs an action.  He’s already responding to “hurry” and “let’s go”. His inmate trainer says the days ahead are going to be fun and rewarding!
