Dale's Going To Be A Huge Hit

Swap Week!  Dale spent time time with an alternate inmate training team this week.  His temporary trainer said that Dale is very well trained and followed every command without a problem.

Prepare yourself… Dale has a sleek black coat and the most alluring brown eyes that can talk you into extra treats and ear rubs.  He’s an energetic boy who seems to bond quickly.  His alternate trainer says that Dale is going to be a huge hit with his new family!

I'm Yours

I’m back and better than ever!  This week I’ve been working harder than ever to perfect all 13 basic commands for you.  I’ve also worked on distance, duration and response time. This means you can ask me to “stay” on my bed and walk and when you come back, I’ll be right where you left me.  I’m starting to learn some extras too.  Like spin, shake, fetch and give.  My favorite is playing fetch with my ball.  I can’t wait to show you what I can do.  It won’t be long now and I’ll be in your arms showing you love and affection.  See you soon!

Expressive Eyes

One week closer to bringing Dale home!  Dale’s inmate trainer says that Dale has been working really hard perfecting all of his commands and is working toward learning some extras.

Dale’s a happy, playful guy, who loves life.  His inmate trainer says that Dale has a way of making you laugh with joy.  At times his eyes cross when he sees food coming his way… nothing but pure excitement for the food to come.  His inmate trainer says his favorite thing about Dale is his expressive eyes.

Let's Play Fetch

It’s week 5 and what a journey it has been so far! I have met a lot of new people during my stay here. and I have learned all my 13 commands. I know them both with verbal cues and hand signals. I’m looking forward to learning some extras, so we can show off to all your friends and family.

I like to relax on my bed with all my toys and watch tv with you. I love to get my neck and chin scratched. it makes me melt in your hands. I like to play fetch with my ball. I’ll bring it back to you every time you throw it for me. I hope some of the extra commands my trainer teaches me are spin, shake, and maybe jump through a hoop. I love to jump. I guess you’ll have to come back next week to find out. Later…

Fun Week

Welcome back fans!  It’s week four of my training session.  So far I have enjoyed my stay at the SCG Academy.  I’m getting better and better at my basic commands and I know you will be super proud of me.  I can’t wait to show you.

I learned a new command this week called down.  It’s my new” go to” move when I’m low on treats.  And it’s working!

That’s all that’s been happening this week.  Come back next week for more.  See Ya!

Toy King

Welcome back, Dale fans! This is week 3 of my training session and I have learned so much these past three weeks. I can now stay in one spot while my primary trainer goes out of sight. I can also stay on a bed while he goes out of sight, too. That's my favorite command so far, because I love spending time on my bed out of the kennel. I've also learned sit, and I started to learn my feeding routine which requires me to sit before I get to eat. That way, you can put the bowl into my kennel before I chow down. We also had show-and-tail last Thursday to show everyone what all we've learned so far and how well we perform our commands. I must have done very well, because I got introduced to some new toys and got to play in the training room with my trainers afterward! My favorite toy so far is a pink monkey with really long arms and legs that swing all around when I shake it. I love playing fetch with all my toys. That's all for now, but y'all come back next week to find out more!

Learning Is Fun

Welcome back Dale fans!  This is week 2 of my training session and I’m catching on to this ask and you shall receive a treat thing.  So far I’ve been introduced to hurry, let’s go, wait, release, heel, kennel, bed, here, stay, leave it and sit.  I still have a long way to perfection, but I’m learning very fast and it’s so much fun.  I can’t wait to learn more. I say bring it on.

I’m still a puppy at heart and love to play, but I calm very easy.  I love to be scratched and anywhere will do.  I’m glad my trainer picked up on that quickly.  I can’t wait o see what else they will discover about me over the next few weeks!

Living The Good Life

Welcome Dale Fans, AKA “On the Border”. When I first arrived at Second Chance Greyhounds Academy, I was a little nervous. There was so much going on and I didn’t know what to think. I got to walk around and explore my new surroundings and I’m getting used to this place.

I met my trainers when I got her and they both seem nice. They gave me a bath, checked me for fleas and ticks, cleaned my ears, brushed by hair and weighed me. The next couple of days I started learning my new commands starting with wait, release, kennel, heel and bed. I’m a smart puppy. I catch on to my commands very fast. I can’t wait to see what else I can lean here. Until next time….
