Swap Week Success

Odie spent some time with an alternate inmate trainer this week for Swap Week!  His alternate inmate handler said that Odie has a calm disposition and is happy to train and have playtime.

Odie adjusted well to to his new temporary training team.  He knows his commands well and didn’t mind running through them.  His alternate inmate trainer says that the week was a huge success.

All Around Greyt Hound

Odie had an exceptional week. He knows all his basic commands and even three extras. Give, Spin and Kiss. He is an all around loving and playful boy that calms easily. His fur is as soft as a bunny and he’s as cute as one too!

Odie learned to climb stairs this week and he had no problems with them. He enjoys people and other dogs and his trainer has found no aggressive behaviors with him towards anything at all. He is a special dog that will always be remembered at Jenkins. Give this guy all the love he deserves.

Confident Guy

Another great week in the books with Odie!  His inmate trainer says that Odie did great at Show and Tell this week.  At one time he got a little distracted and started playing in the middle of his performance, but then got back on track.  Silly boy.

His inmate trainer says that Odie is a completely different dog from when he first arrived.  He came in shy and a little timid and now he’s confident and playful, looking forward to each new day.  His inmate trainer says it’s been a treat to watch the transformation.

This week he started learning to “spin”.   They’ve been working on building distance and duration with his other commands.  His inmate trainer says he’s very proud of Odie!

One-Of-A-Kind Hound

Another week down and another week closer to going home….Odie had a great week. He didn’t get all 10’s on his mid term test, but he does know them, he can be slow to respond. No worries. He’s a smart boy. His trainers are sure he will have them down pat by graduation day.

Odie is truly a one-of-a-kind hound. He loves people and his trainers have found no aggressive behaviors. He is a playful boy that loves all the attention. He is also a curious boy that wants to know what everything is and why it is. His awesome personality will draw you in. You are going to love having Odie as your friend.

Meet And Greeter

What a week with Odie. He has opened up this week and has wanted to play every chance he gets. His trainers are working with him on proper play behaviors, such as not jumping for the toys and giving them up when asked.. As with everything else, he is picking this up very quickly and is doing great.

Odie was a star at show and tail this week, doing all of his commands for his trainer. He needed a little treat encouragement for sit and down, but for all the others, he did them without treats. Not too bad for week 5.

Odie loves attention from people and is great at meeting and greeting everyone. He also enjoys being able to roam around the dorm and doing his own thing, with permission of course.

Odie has his halfway through training testing this week and his trainer can’t wait to see how well he does. Check back next week to see how Odie did.

Odie Is A Treat Within Itself

Hi everyone!  It’s been another great week for Odie!  He and his inmate trainer have continued working on all commands and are currently working on building distance and duration.  He’s sitting like a champ and goes through his feeding routine like pro!  What’s his feeding routine you ask?  Well, his trainer requests that he release, heel, sit, stay, and kennel.  His “jump” has been improving  and he doesn’t seem to mind following through at all.

Next up on the training list will be “down” which will complete the 13 basic commands.  This week he got to run and play outside.  He absolutely loved it!  He’s so tall he easily kept up with his running mates.

He performed all of his commands for an alternate trainer this week without missing a beat.  He loves people and meeting strangers is a lot of fun for him.  His inmate trainer says that being around Odie is a treat within itself!

A Hunk and a Scholar

Hey, everyone! What an amazing weekend has been with Odie. He's really starting to open up and get excited about things. This also makes him get excited about learning, so his trainer has taken full advantage of that. They have been improving on everything that he has already learned and worked on by increasing the distance and duration, particularly with wait, stay, and bed. He has done very well with these and will allow his trainer to walk around the whole dorm while he lays on his bed or stands in the day room. They also started working on sit and jump. His trainer got his first sit this week without a lure, so Odie is getting it pretty quickly. He is not very sure about jump, even though for him it's more of a step because he is tall. But his trainer will continue to practice it until he gets comfortable with it.

He also was introduced to toys this week, which was uneventful at first. He needed another dog to show him how to play and then he started playing with a toy on the bed. He doesn't understand chasing toys yet, but hopefully he will open up more and learn how fun toys can be. Well, that's all for this week. Later!

Fast Learner

Hey everyone!  Odie has had a great week of learning.  He has just about gotten the leash walking down and his trainer has been working on kennel, release, wait, let’s go, and his name.  Odie caught on so well with those basic commands that he introduced bed, here, stay, heel and leave it.

Odie is still a little unsure of his new environment, but is slowly opening up more and more each day.  He enjoys going around the dorm exploring.  He also likes greeting people and getting attention.  He gets plenty of petting from everyone because he’s as soft as a teddy bear.

I'm Cute!

Hey everyone! It’s Odie’s first week and he is doing very well. He did good getting a bath when he first arrived. Odie has been doing a lot of leash walking and exploring everything in the dorm to help get used to his new environment. He is already progressing well and his trainer is sure he will do great this session.

Odie is a gorgeous white and brindle boy that loves having his ears rubbed. He will tilt his head to get the best ear scratching. Odie’s trainer is looking forward to spending this session with this sweet guy and keeping everyone updated on his progress.
