Silly And Playful

Over the past week Macy and her trainer have been enjoying their last week together. Macy enjoys the rain and it makes her very happy. It is so funny to watch her run around. Macy loves her toys. She does this funny pounce and bark/snarl at her toys after throwing or pushing them away from her.

Every morning the room and kennel have to be cleaned up and apparently Macy thinks she is being kicked out. She will quickly snatch any and everything that is hers and try to put it back in the room. She has this high tip-toe prance when running away with something. Sneaky little girl.

Her trainer will miss Macy along with her silly playfulness. She is a wonderful, sweet and beautiful dog. She is eager to learn tricks and commands so teach away! The sky is the limit.

What A Personality

What a personality Macy truly has. Over this past week she has let it all hang out. She is very happy and playful. Macy enjoys running around chasing toys. Give her a basket full of toys and watch her go to town and find her favorite one.

Macy is very friendly and sociable with people. She enjoys getting attention and love from other inmates.

Macy has become very fond of a stick out in the yard. She will sniff it out to play with and carry it around. It’s too cute!

As the weeks go by, it is time to reflect on how much fun they have had with Macy and how much they have learned together. She is both loving and sweet. She knows all of her basic commands very well and so many extras too! You are going to love her for sure!

Silly Macy

Macy has learned to “shake” this week, and now it’s her go-to way of asking you for attention and affection. If that doesn’t work right away, sometimes she will roll over and wiggle on the ground to let you know she wants to play. Her trainer describes Macy as a mostly calm dog, but sometimes she gets these bursts of energy and just bounces around.

Macy’s best friend is Julie, another dog in the program, and they can frequently be found sharing a bed or stealing toys from one another. Macy is great with all the other dogs as well.

Macy is good with regular grooming routines, but does not like getting a bath. She will spend the whole time trying to gain her freedom. She enjoys being around people and hanging out with them.

Doing Great!

Macy is a wonderful companion to have. Her trainers said spending the days training and playing with her are so enjoyable. She is a very smart dog that’s for sure. She really enjoys lounging around too.

Macy is sociable with people and loves attention. She will approach people, but sometimes is standoffish. Her trainers have been working with her on her leash walking. There are times that she just doesn’t want to go. She is doing better.

Macy answers to her commands very well when asked by a stranger who has a treat. For the first time while off leash in the yard she responded to “Here.” Halfway to the gate to go in she stopped, thought about it and even though she wanted to go in she turned and went back to her trainer. What a happy moment! Macy finally learned to “Shake.”

All and all Macy is doing great!!

Spa Days

The dogs had some visitors this week to test how they respond to commands from strangers, and Macy did fantastic. As long as they had a treat in their hand, she did everything she was asked.

Macy also learned how to “roll over” this week, and got to show off her tricks at Show & Tell on Friday. Now whenever she’s in a playful mood she drops and rolls over to show she wants to play.

Macy has been enjoying frequent pedicures lately to keep the pads on her feet lush and moisturized. Her trainer has started to rub the balm into her coat as well, so she’s looking especially soft and shiny these days. She’s a black beauty!

Keeping It Cool

It’s been quite a hot week, so Macy has spent most of her time lazing around inside in the air conditioning. Her trainer takes her for three laps around the yard, but all Macy wants to do is go inside and eat some ice.

Now that they’ve been together for five weeks Macy is getting comfortable with her trainers. She likes to collect items of theirs in her bed. She also has little conversations with them where she will “sass” them when they are giving her directions. LOL She is still doing great during training and performs all of her commands.

Furry Foodie

Macy loves to eat and earn treats. She is always sniffing around looking for a treat that may have been dropped or overlooked, and she can be distracted for hours playing with ice cubes in her water bowl. Training is going well and she knows all of her commands, but she’d still rather get a treat for being such a cutie than have to work for it.

Macy is loving the freedom to run around and play now that she has recovered from surgery. She is especially active in the mornings, because she finds the afternoons to be too hot. Overall she’s had a great week.

Wonderful Personality

Macy, Macy, Macy… Her personality is wonderful, she is full of energy and happiness! She enjoys socializing with the other dogs and people. Just throw a toy for Macy and watch her go.

Macy is very nosey and curious girl. She likes to wander around the dorm checking everything out. So many new things to explore at the prison Kennel training is going okay, but Macy prefers to be hanging out with her people.

What a fast pup Macy is! She enjoys running with the other dogs. Just throw a few toys and balls out in the yard for her to play with; she may not start the race, but she will join in.

Macy’s trainer has really enjoyed this past week with her. Between training and playing with toys, she is a happy dog. Just to brag, Macy is great when it comes to sharing. Whether it’s a toy or a dog bed. She is a very sweet and loving dog. She enjoys fishing for ice cubes in her water bowl and it is adorable!

Curious Gal

This past week Macy has shown just how smart she is. Macy and her trainer have worked on all of her basic commands, plus a few extra ones. Macy knows her name fairly well.

Macy loves playing with toys especially since she has learned how to make them squeak! Her trainer has so much fun watching her throw, chase and bark at the toy. She is in between being a playful and laid back dog. She will have short spurts of energy, then she chills out.

Macy enjoys walking around being both nosey and curious about things. She is doing great with the “Leave It” command. Her trainer is so excited to see Macy’s personality come out more as each day goes by. She is a joy to have around and fun to train with. Macy is very treat motivated and is very eager to perform commands for whatever you have, that she wants.

Peanut Butter and Marshmallows Please

Meeting Macy for the first time was a joy. She is sweet and loving. Her spirit is very bright, fun and laid back. She warmed up to her new living area very well.

So far Macy shares and plays well with the other dogs. Over the past few days her trainer has worked on the name game, bed, kennel and a few other commands. She is catching on very quickly and is very treat motivated. Macy likes both peanut butter and marshmallows. Yum!

Macy’s trainer is looking forward to spending the next 10 weeks with her. I wonder what’s in store next week.
