Graduation Is Coming

Razzy’s time at the prison is almost complete.  Her inmate trainer is very proud to report that Razzy knows all of her commands really well.  She’s playful with a bit of Greyhound stubbornness thrown in the mix.  He says that she’s a well-behaved girl who’s certain to make her new family very happy.

Razzy plays well with the other Greyhounds and has a sweet lovable personality that is going to make it easy for her new family to fall in love with her.  He says that he’s going to miss her when she’s gone, but knows that she has a life full of happiness ahead of her.

Spending Time With An Alternate Trainer

Swap week means it’s time to work with an alternate inmate trainer! Razzy’s alternate inmate trainer says that he is impressed by how well Razzy does all of her commands. She didn’t have any problems being away from her primary trainer and seemed to enjoy her time with her alternate trainer.

Razzy’s alternate trainer says that she loves to play fetch and that she has a playful energy that just brings a smile to your face!  She loves toys especially the squeaky ones.  She didn’t show any toy aggression or possessiveness.

Razzy’s alternate trainer says that Razzy’s forever family should prepare themselves to fall fast for this amazingly sweet girl!  He says that Razzy is one of the sweetest and most fun dogs he’s worked with since entering the training program!

Loving and Playful

Razzy is a loving and playful girl.  Her favorite game is fetch.  She loves the soft material squeaky toys and prefers the worn out Kong ball to play fetch with.  She runs and plays well with the other dogs.  She knows all of her commands very well with verbal only cues and many with hand signal only cues.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s been a blessing to have around and that it is going to be hard to see her go.

What A Joy!

Razzy is going great with all of her commands.  She can be a little stubborn with the “bed” command, but will follow through after a bit of consideration.  She loves the outdoors and can get a little excited at the prospect of going out.  When she starts pulling on her leash with excitement her inmate trainer corrects her and she response very well.  Sometimes she gets a little unsure of shiny floors, but her inmate trainer gives her a few mins to adjust and she seems to find her confidence to carry on.

Razzy is a smart girl with a wonderful personality.  Her inmate trainer believes that she’s going to be a wonderful addition to her new forever family!  He says that she’s been a true joy to train and that everyone loves her!

Treat Payments

My name is Razzy and I’m here at the prison working with my inmate trainer to learn new things. He explained that it was to help prepare me for home life.  Wonder what that is?  Whatever it is he pays me in treats so it tastes like a good deal to me.

Okay so for some reason this week these people ran this floor buffer thing.  Not only was it loud but also it left the floors really, really, shiny.  I couldn’t really tell what I was walking on just looked like a slippery surface to me.  I’m walking better on them now, but still find that my feet slip and slide which is a little unnerving. We’ve had some thunderstorms move through and I’d truly rather ride them out in my crate.  I feel safe there until they pass.

I know all of my basic commands really well and have even started learning to “shake”!  We’re still working on improving my fetching skills but it so much fun I have no problem working on it.  I love meeting new people and playing with tennis balls.   I hope they home some of those in my new forever home!

Playing Fetch

Razzy is doing well with training!  She has her basics down and has also picked up on playing fetch.  She’s doing really well with leash walking and responds well to correction.  She gets excited and wants to join the fun when other dogs are playing. She didn’t want to share her Kong toy this week so her inmate trainer has been working with her on sharing and she’s shown great improvement.

Razzy’s inmate trainer says that Razzy is a very sweet dog who will do most anything.  She likes to play, be loved on, relax, go through her commands, eat treats, and play a little fetch.  He says that her recall is really good unless something grabs her interest or she’s playing with other dogs.

Razzy’s inmate trainer hopes that Razzy finds a home where the people will love her and show her all the attention she deserves.

Lovable Little Girl

Razzy is a lovable little girl.  She’s doing great with her basic commands and knows all of them with verbal cues and some hand signal cues.  She was introduced to the stairs this week and wasn’t too sure what to think about the new mountain.  Her inmate trainer thinks it could be due to the smooth surface of the stairs which appears slick.  He plans to continue to work with her to build her confidence.  She’s doing really well with jump as long as it’s not slick shiny surface.

Razzy’s inmate trainer has been teaching her how to fetch and she's catching on really well. He says that being toy motivated helps a lot too!  She is also learning “lap”.  She loves being a lap dog and if she could get her whole body up she probably would.  Razzy loves attention and would let you pet her bald!

Razzy is doing great with training.  She can still get a little ahead of her trainer while on the leash but is correcting well.  Her inmate trainer says that Razzy is an amazing little girl with a wonderful playful personality.

Starting to Shine

Razzy is really starting to shine!  Now that she’s been at the prison for a while she’s getting more comfortable.  Her weekly activities consist of training, playing in the big yard, and rest and relaxation!

She’s doing a great job with her training and even preformed well during the training check visit by SCG.  Some of her commands need a little brushing up like:  stay, wait, and heel.  Her leash walking skills are much better, but still needs correction sometimes.  She does really well with: sit, down, here, kennel, release, and let’s go. They’ve started working on the “jump” command. Her inmate trainer places a treat on the bench and helps her up one paw at a time. He believes she’ll have this figured out soon.

Razzy’s inmate trainer says that he believes that she is a moderate level energy dog. She can be excited one minute and sleeping the next.  She likes toys and her favorite is an orange fox squeaky toy.  Her inmate trainer says that Razzy will make you laugh and she loves to be loved on.  He says that she’s a real joy to be around.  He believes that her fun and lovable personality is going to be a big hit with her forever family.

Exploring A Whole New World

Razzy’s inmate trainer has noticed a big difference in her attitude this past week.  She’s very curious about things but is much more relaxed and not as shy.  She trusts her inmate trainer more.  He says that she is a truly sweet and lovable girl.  Having her around has lifted him up and makes him laugh a lot.

Razzy’s training is going great.  Her leash walking skills have shown improvement.  She still needs correction to stop her pulling, but she listening.  In the dorm she pulls less and seems to be calmer.  It could be that the dorm is not as interesting to her as the great outdoors.  She’s also doing really well with “sit” and “down”.  Her inmate trainer has started requesting that she “sit” before her meals are served.  She’s responding well to her name and is even recalling well.

Razzy hasn’t shown any aggression and loves to lay out on the dog beds relaxing.  Her inmate trainer says that Razzy has been a blessing.  He hopes that she gets a wonderful home filled with love.

Retirement Has Begun!

Razzy has only been at the prison for a few days but she is adjustly quite nicely to her new surroundings.  She is very curious about everything around her which is giving her inmate trainer plenty of opportunities to work with Razzy on her leash manners. She is also learning to love her new crate and is getting better about it day by day.

She has loads of personality, too.  Her tail wags a thousand times a minute.  You can tell she is a happy dog.  Her inmate trainer says she is going to be a great family dog when she graduates from the program in May.  In the meantime, watch her blog weekly for updates on her training progress.
