Sergio = Forever Friend

Oh my!  Time sure has flown by for Sergio and his trainers.  They would like to thank you for letting them train such a sweet, happy boy. He has come a long way since arriving 10 weeks ago.  Sergio has completely come out of his shell and will go the extra mile to be shown some loving.  He has taken to retirement very well.  In fact, his favorite thing to do is chill beside someone watching tv.  If that isn't an option, his kennel will do.  Sergio is just an all around great greyhound and whoever adopts him will be blessed with a forever friend!

Gentle Giant

Sergio was a perfect gentleman during swap week.  He had no signs of separation anxiety or following through with his commands.  He is a gentle giant that is very smart and laid back.  Sergio likes to hang out and chill with his trainers, whenever he's not training.  He's not much into toys, but is still a fun greyhound to have around.

Only a couple more weeks before graduation and his trainer is confident that his adoptive family is going to love him.  One lucky family for one lucky greyhound.  Go Sergio!!!

Big Handsome Blessing

Hi, Sergio here, just want to inform you that I've been doing great with all of my commands. I've even learned an extra command, bow. I am a very loving dog, and super laid-back. I love my kennel and I love to be shown affection, especially by girls. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt me and make me part of their family, I just want you to know you are going to be blessed with a great companion and friend. I really hope my new family enjoys having me around as much as my trainer has!

Retirement life is sweet!

Helloooooo everyone and Happy New Year!  Sergio here and I cannot express in words just how much I am enjoying my retirement.  These guys and gals here at Jenkins, really know how to make a man, um dog, feel loved.  I should have retired a long time ago.

As far as my new day job is concerned, this stuff is soooo easy.  All I have to do is show them I know my commands and they give me all sorts of treats, pet me and allow me to lounge around in my kennel the rest of the time.    I love my kennel so much, that all these guys have to say is the word "kennel" from anywhere in the building and I'll find my way home!  Life is sweet!  They always tell me how super smart I am when I do this and they are right.  Until next time.  Sergio signing off...

All Around Greyt Hound

Sergio’s inmate trainer says that Sergio is an all around great dog with an old soul.  When he’s not training Sergio’s pretty lazy.  He absolutely loves his kennel and all things relaxing.  He’s doing wonderful with all of his commands.  His inmate trainer has slowing started tagging “bow” as a new command.  The process is coming along nicely and his inmate trainer believes he’ll have it figured out in no time.  Sergio wants to wish his forever family a Merry Christmas and he can't wait to see you next year!

Happy Holidays from Sweet Sergio!

Sergio is continuing to do exceedingly well with his training. He does all of his basic commands without issue. His trainers current analysis of him brought him to the conclusion that he is an old soul. He performs all of his commands to a tee, sometimes a little slowly, but he considers it a leisurely pace. His trainer has also come to realize that Sergio is what most would call a ladies man. He absolutely loves being in the company of women and goes ballistic whenever he hears a lady's voice. It's funny to see him react whenever a lady enters the room. They've been working on a few combination commands recently such as sit and stay, down and stay. He started catching on and his trainer has no doubt that he will have them mastered in no time. Sergio is incredibly smart and lazy. He loves his kennel! That's by far his favorite command. Happy holidays from Sergio, until next week!

Having A Blast - Training and Playing

Hi all!  Sergio here!  Let me just tell you what, these trainers really know how to work a puppy’s paws off!  I’ll admit when I first arrived I wasn’t exactly sure how I’d like this environment so I kinda stuck to myself and just tried to bide my time till I could leave.  Well, that didn’t work my trainers showed me that there was no reason to be shy.  I’m so glad they did because now I’m having a blast!  Now, I still enjoy lounging around in my kennel, but I really look forward to my training sessions and playing with the other humans and hounds.

So, this week we did something called “stair training”.  You’re never going to believe this, but the elevation of the floor changed!!  It was amazing!  My inmate trainer says I did really well and gave me lots of yummy treats afterwards.  That’s one of the coolest things about this training gig… treat rewards!  Hope you check back next week!

Sergio, On Santa's "Nice" List

Sergio's progression is steady and he's picking up on the basic commands quickly.  He is now "sitting' without having to be scooped. He tends to "down" when asked to "sit", so his trainer is working to correct that. Sergio knows "hurry", "let's go", "kennel", "release", "bed" and "leave it". His trainer is sure he will be performing all his commands perfectly in no time.  It's only week three and he's right where he should be.

Sergio is an incredibly sweet boy and has really come out of his shell this past week.  Check back next week to see what he has accomplished.  I bet you will be surprised.

Handsome Prodigy

Sergio is doing well for his first full week of training. His toe is healing up nicely but for now his trainer is keeping the training sessions light. His trainer hasn't been pushing him too hard. That being said, even with light training sessions he's still doing very well. He loves the kennel command and is progressing very well with heel. He has now learned that he will not come out of the kennel until he is laying down, and has gotten to the point where the majority of the time when his trainer opens the kennel door he won't stand up until he's given the release command. Overall, Sergio is doing very well and his trainer has no doubt that he will be performing all of his commands perfectly in a matter of weeks. One little lost toe isn't going to stop this handsome boy!

Sweet Guy

Sergio is an incredibly sweet and gentle boy with a very serene personality. His eating habits are a little peculiar, and by that his trainer means that he is incredibly gentle and taking kibble or treats out of your hand or his food bowl. It's so sweet!

Sergio remains a little unsure about his new environment, but his trainer is sure that given another few days he will start to break out of his protective shell. He looks forward to continuing to work with Sergio throughout the session.
